"I'm not trying to hide it from you! Also, yes, I know it isn't good," Thomas said.
"I'm not trying to hide it from you! Also, yes, I know it isn't good," Thomas said.
"So what is it?" Virgil asked. He had a theory on who was hiding it, but no idea what was going on with Thomas himself.
Thomas sighed. "I haven't told any of you because even I don't really understand what's been going on. I never meant for this to affect any of you, but it's gotten that bad, and I still haven't figured out a cause."
"WHAT IS IT?" Virgil's voice turned dark, echoing, in the fashion fans referred to as the "Tempest Tongue" when Anxiety for intense, like in Patton's room or at the end of Accepting Anxiety Part Two when the sides all were being corrupted by his own room. "Yes, Thomas, do tell us. It would be best for us to fix this as soon as possible." Logan said.
"I'm trying to explain it, guys! I really am!" Thomas said.
"Well, you are, as it were, beating around the bush, meaning avoiding explaining or revealing a topic by avoiding and tangenting-" "We know what it means, Specs. You and I aren't on good terms right now so don't pretend you care." Virgil interrupted.
"Please don't argue. I don't need more problems," Thomas said.
"Alright. So? Get on with the explanation? Patton and Roman will be here soon, probably, so we can fill them in on whatever they missed." Virgil said.
"Well, there's been a lot of things going on recently, from my normal life to my YouTube things, to everything, and well, I've noticed people don't like me as much as they used to. Any video I post is getting less views and more hate, and at this point my own friends are avoiding me, so I've just kind of decided to stop it all for a while. No videos, no going to see friends, because it all ends badly," Thomas explained.
(This came out of nowhere, I swear. I just took some previous context and made this. I'm never like this, but the context was hinting at it anyway, so I took the context and made this)
"Thomas, is that… that's… how could you think…" Virgil said breathlessly. "Don't lie to yourself, Thomas. It doesn't always end badly, you know that. And really, a little temporary backlash is nothing, and your friends would never hate you. People are busy, things happen, but you haven't done anything to my incredibly extensive knowledge that would merit, as it were," he pulled out a flashcard, "haters."
"So, you're saying I'm just taking it all the wrong way? That could be true," Thomas said.
"I'm not saying that, exactly. I do believe that some backlash is to be expected from any fan, but I'm always telling you to not take this so hard. You may want to find something productive to do, such as clean your room or take out the trash, both would be greatly appreciated." Logan said.
"Well, if you think I need to do something I might as well to see if that helps at all," Thomas said.
"Finishing a task, even a small one, is proven to help one's mental health by activating the reward centere of the mind, releasing chemicals that, for lack of a better word, make one feel happy. You can relax as well, watch a lighthearted television show or eat a sugary snack, but productivity is useful and effective at improving one's mood." Logan added. Virgil stared. "Wow, Lo, that was deep." he said, wide eyed.
"Okay. I will go do something now. Thanks for the help," Thomas said.
"Uh… sure. Yes. Good." Virgil said. He wanted to talk to Roman, discuss an idea he just had, and sink out. Logan saluted, sunk out as well, and left Thomas to 'be productive'.
Thomas decided on something to do and got started.
"Hey," Roman said.
"Roman. I know exactly what Thomas should do for his next video!" Virgil said happily.
"What is it?" Roman asked.
"Cartoon Therapy. It's the answer! Roman, how do you feel about discussing Coping Mechanisms?" Virgil said.
"That's a good idea right there, and what?" Roman asked.
"Coping mechanisms. It's like… breathing exercises, or taking your mind off of something, or jogging, dealing with difficult things and such. Positive coping mechanisms are mindfulness, positive self talk, counseling, and negative ones, the ones people should avoid… uh, like self harm, I guess." Virgil said. "I'm not sure which cartoon would be best for discussion, but I definitely think we have something." he added.
(waves hands in a spoopy way Foreshadowing for plot much? I dunno, you'll have to figure that out for yourself lol.)
"I'm not sure either, but the idea is a great one!" Roman said.
"I'd like to think so. We can take a break, I guess, I think Thomas has been getting better and Logan seems less jerk-ish, why don't we call it a day and have a famILY movie night? Does Disney sound any good to you?" Virgil asked.
"Okay and that's fine," Roman said.
