Valerie’s eyes snapped open. The black-haired girl was breathing heavily. She had woken up in a cold sweat, shadows of a burning house imprinted on her eyelids and echoes of pained screams ringing in her ears. Not being able to sleep, she slowly got up and got dressed, pulling on a T-shirt and shorts with no regard for the cold outside.
Why now? She wondered as she walked through the camp. Why do these memories come now? Why does it affect me so much? This never happened before… Abruptly, stopping, she realized she’d climbed to the top of the hill where she had been with Cato earlier. She smiled faintly at the memory and sat down, watching the horizon. The sun would be up soon, and she wasn’t sleeping anyways.
//AHHHH WHY DO YOU WRITE SUCH BEAUTIFUL PARAGRAPHS AND IM OVER HERE WITH TWO CRAPPY SENTENCES

Cato couldn’t sleep. His leg was paining him worse than usual. He got up and wobbled out of bed, deciding to return to the hill he and Val had been on earlier.
//is that ok
//yeet
She shivered slightly but didn’t get up for a jacket, choosing instead to curl in on herself a little. Eyes bright, she glanced over the camp, not noticing the footsteps behind her.
//oh crap i have to do stuff now huh
(Yes. Give her that jacket.)
Cato saw Val sitting on the hill, hugging herself for warmth. “Oh. Hi, Val. Couldn’t sleep?”
//she says nope and i give jacket boom
“Hmm?” She turned around, tearing her eyes off the city. “Oh. Yeah.”
//why would she say no that’s exactly the reason she’s here I’m so confused
