Like you said, people familiar with latin can identify the root words. "Haidr"-"aqo", like "hydro" and "aqua" for water (I assume), because of his fisherman father. It's good for the audience, makes them feel intelligent, which makes it fun to read. They get something extra, something niche within your world. Even if it is one name, I'm sure there are more examples of this in your work.

Even still, those in your audience who aren't language buffs will still be able to feel the language. We have words like hydroflask and aquaman all around us, making their associations with water inside everyone's mind. Even if some readers don't hear water, they can't help but feel the name's meaning. Ok I'm done hyper-analyzing Haidraqo lol.

But later in that week I thought "but that's really stupid" and read more the dictionary and found "Dusk" which is much better for my character.

I needed a random name for an extra character yesterday and named a him Trap. His guide dog is named Chicago, nicknamed Chicca. So far this is actually the weirdest I got.

Ajax, Corvina and Draquesha are even weirder. Draquesha was pronounced "Drah-key-shah", not "Dray-kwee-shah". I just thought it sounded nice.
