Rhiv: he takes some time to process this, and he slowly relaxes the slightest bit.
"Well then… I… hope to see the stars tonight as well."

Salmook: he nods along, but he seems a little more than antsy to get out of Rhiv's grasp.

Ater: He looks up at Parvus, before speeding up a bit. He's walking next to Rhiv and Salmook now.

Tseth: He sighs, petting Parvus a bit. Maybe he'll be in a better mood later.

Parvus: He closes his eyes and starts purring when Tseth pets him.

Salmook: he notices Ater beside him, and he picks the cat up. Ater might be a weird fuzz-beast that mashes his face into things, but Ater is nice, at least. Salmook falls even further behind Rhiv, holding up Ater to his face. "Why are you so… face-smashy?"

Rhiv: he walks on at the same pace, though he casts a few backwards glances at Salmook. he… Rhiv didn't scare him, did he?

Tseth: He watches Salmook and Ater. "Cats do that because they like you. Or they're trying to comfort you."

Ater: He looks a little less-than-happy about being picked up, but he doesn't struggle out of Salmook's hold.

Parvus: He stands up on his hind legs, as if he’s gonna try to climb up to Tseth’s head again.

Resh: He laughs at Parvus. “Watch out, he’s gonna try and sit on your head again.”

Salmook: he looks over at Parvus and Tseth. maybe he could put Ater on his head, too? Salmook tries, but Ater is a little too big and a little too heavy. Salmook cradles Ater in his arms like a baby instead. "So the face-smashies means Ater likes me? Then I like him, too."

Rhiv: the second half of Tseth's response ticks Rhiv off. comfort? uh, that's Rhiv's entire job, and he doesn't appreciate the idea of being replaced by a bug-eyed fuzzball. he keeps his expression neutral, but his body language is anything but.

Ater: He protests a bit when Salmook tries to put him in his head. When Salmook resolves to just hold him, he stares at Salmook.

Tseth: He pushes Parvus back down on all fours gently and glances at him. "No." He looks over at Salmook and Ater again, holding back a laugh. "You can pet him, too." Hey, what's Rhiv getting so riled up for? His kid being nice to a cat?

Parvus: He chitters indignantly at Tseth, then starts batting at his hair again.

Rhiv: he rolls his eyes and distracts himself with trying to figure out what time it is. he catches a few glimpses of the sun through the canopy, but it's pretty hard to tell. the sky hasn't started to change colors yet, at least, but that doesn't help much.

Salmook: he's not fully used to holding Ater. he drops the cat on accident. it's not much of a fall, but Salmook still feels guilty.
"Oohh, I'm so-so sorry, Ater. I didn't mean to- are you okay?" be reaches to pick Ater up again, but he hesitates and backs up.

Tseth: A small growl comes from Tseth, directed at Parvus. Pretty much saying "Stop being annoying."

Ater: He shakes himself off after the fall. He wasn't hurt, but he still meows at Salmook, annoyed.

Parvus: He goes still for a few moments, then huffs and curls up into a tight ball on Tseth’s shoulder.

Resh: He continues watching Parvus, amused. “He’s so melodramatic.” He looks at Tseth. “Did you teach him that?”

Salmook: he frowns a little at Ater. "Sorry, sorry." he puts some distance between himself and the cat.

Rhiv: his fists keep clenching and relaxing. every second he spends in this forest is putting him more on edge. he's not a big fan of the idea that they could be jumped at any time. Rhiv looks over his shoulder and whistles for Salmook to walk with him.

Tseth: He looks over at Resh with fake offense. "Who, me? I would never." Closely following that is a smile.

Alex: He rolls his eyes at Tseth. "You're really proving your point."
