Without hesitation, he grabbed her hand and moved to her side. He looked down at her with a small smile of his own. "Lead the way."
Without hesitation, he grabbed her hand and moved to her side. He looked down at her with a small smile of his own. "Lead the way."
Tempest realized what she had done, and blushed slightly, but kept hold of his hand. She led him from the cafe and down the sidewalk towards the park.
"We're going back to the park?" he asked skeptically. He didn't want to doubt her, but he was certainly confused.
Tempest shot him a smile but said nothing. She led him through some trees to an open place, where a table, bench and fountain were. "Recognize this place?''
He tilted his head as he looked around. "I think?" He looked back down at her, still confused.
Tempest laughed, letting go of his hand and sitting down on the bench. "This is the place we met."
He looked around, his lips forming a silent, Ooooh. He looked at her sheepishly. "Sorry I didn't get it at first." He loved her laugh, though.
She grinned. "I know." She stood, walking back to him and putting her arm through his.
He smiled down at her and tightened his grip on her. He was smiling a lot more with Tempest than he's ever smiled before. Something about her just made him… happy.
Her smile, her laugh… it was all contagious.
He didn't realize he was staring until it was too late.
Tempest looked up at him. "What?" She asked. His stare was intense.
His lips parted in surprise and embarrassment; his cheeks flushed as he looked away. "U-Um, nothing. Just admiring the view."
Tempest blushed. "The view…" she trailed off, not sure what he was talking about. She found his blush adorable, and his stutter…
Lance bit his lip, and in a sudden act of boldness, slipped out of her grasp–only to engulf her in a loose hug. He rested his chin on the top of her head, breathing in her intoxicating scent.
Was this okay?
Tempest was startled for a moment, then hugged him back, burying her face in his chest. She squeezed him tightly.
He chuckled as she squeezed him, but she didn't hurt him in the slightest. He tightened his hold on her as well, but not as tight as she held him. He found himself liking this contact, and he didn't want to let go of her any time soon.
Tempest sighed. The hug was getting long enough that it should be awkward, but she didn't care.
Lance dropped his head to her shoulder, resting his forehead against it as he sorted through his thoughts. Tempest was definitely someone who had squirmed through his guard and let themselves in. And the fact was… he didn't mind it one bit. He wanted to get closer to her.
Tempest grinned. She stayed still, though. How had he managed to do this to her? Before, she was always worried that people would see her, that she wasn't good enough. Now, she felt she was.
"Tempest," he breathed, closing his eyes. He didn't know what he was going to say, almost all coherent thoughts had become a jumbled mess.
"Mhm?" She mumbled,
He moved his head slightly, just enough to lightly brush his lips over the sliver of exposed skin on her shoulders. Not quite a kiss, but…
Tempest shivered slightly, holding back a moan.
Lance froze but didn't pull away. What was he doing? This was uncharted territory on his part–no one had caught his eye quite light Tempest had–but he was sure he was going too far.
Tempest wondered why he had stopped. She gently leaned up ad kissed his pulse point.
Lance shivered and sucked in a breath through his nose.
Or maybe not far enough?
He kissed her shoulder, then slowly worked his way up to the base of her neck.
