She managed to grab hold of his tail as he whisked by. "Have you seen the size difference?"
She managed to grab hold of his tail as he whisked by. "Have you seen the size difference?"
"It's not cheating, it's just being smart."
She snarled halfheartedly, releasing him. "Sure." She tilted her head up at the moon. "I don't really feel like going back."
He moved over to her head, rubbing the side of his face against her's. "Neither do I."
She purred again, closing her eyes.
He curled up next to her head, peering up at her.
She opened her eyes and lightly nipped at him. "I can only sustain this form for so long at night." she warned.
"Well, then change back. I can take you home."
She snorted and shook her head. "How about we spend the night here?" She rumbled in laughter and her eyes gleamed. "I promise to keep to myself."
"I'm not opposed. Do you want me to change back, or no?"
"Your choice." Before he could answer, she turned back into the inferno before becoming human again. She stretched out her muscles. She peered up at him through the clearing she had made.
He gave her a smile and a wink, returning to his human form with a flash of a white-ish blue. "Soooo, what did you think?"
"I think I like your dragon more than mine," she sighed. "I'm just a big lump of muscle and teeth."
"Mine is a fucking runt. Your's is a badass."
"You can move. I mean, I can level half a battlefield in one pass, but it takes me a bit of maneuvering to get back for another pass."
"I don't have any strength at all. Like, I'd feel more comfortable fighting another dragon in human form than with my dragon."
"Teeth." she pointed out, then rubbed her hands together and started gathering some wood.
He shrugged. "Maybe."
She dumped a small pile of sticks next to him and looked at him with her hands on her hips. "Are you going to be a gentleman and help?"
"Well, I'm not cold." He said, but began to search for suitable sticks.
"Neither am I, but I'd like to see. The Isic empire is in sort of a rain forest-y area, so it rarely ever gets cold. But it does get dark."
He shrugged, walking back with an armful of sticks.
"That should be good." She grabbed them and dumped them on the pile, setting it on fire and sitting close. She patted the ground next to her.
He sat down, smiling. "Did you have fun?"
Tess leaned against him, staring at the crackling fire. "Yeah. Haven't had that much fun in a while."
