Blake practically burst out laughing, putting a hand over his mouth to muffle it slightly.
Blake practically burst out laughing, putting a hand over his mouth to muffle it slightly.
Kye had to hold back his laughter a moment to get out another few words. “Blake, this is serious, you never forget-“ he managed before not being able to hold back his giggles anymore.
“Oh shush I forget stuff sometimes.” He managed to get out, continuing to laugh, being careful not to fall out of the tree.
Kye's stomach was beginning to hurt from all the laughing, so he tried to calm down enough to where it would stop. Somehow, it was always with Blake he found himself the happiest. He loved Derlik, he really did, but a lot of the time he would force himself to keep positive in front of him. The boy felt like he owed the god that even though it was clear he didn't. "I know, I'm just teasing," he replied, a faint chuckle following.
Blake forced themselves to calm down too, their over the top laughter slowly becoming just a few chuckles. He smiled over at Kye softly.
Kye smiled back, happy to be with his friend. “I really like it when you laugh,” he said honestly. “I love seeing you so happy,” he added, leaning into Blake.
“Do you?” They asked, their head tilting a bit. “Why do you think that is?” Blake wrapped one arm around Kye so he wouldn’t fall.
Kye was being careful before hand, but didn’t argue when Blake embraced him. He looked up at his friend, both confusion and mirth on his face. “What kind if question is that? I care about you silly. I… like knowing you’re happy here,” he said, trailing off softly towards the end. Here with me.
Blake smiled back at Kye. “Yeah me too. I really do like it here, it’s nice. Even though Derlik can be a handful sometimes.” They laughed softly.
Kye couldn’t help but snicker at Blake’s reply. “Sometimes? Haha, I still love him though. Even if he’s very over the top, I ended up like him so I can’t exactly say he’s too much worse than me,” he said, already taking one of Blake’s hands again.
“True. You’re pretty dramatic yourself.” Blake said, ruffling Kye’s hair with his free hand, a wide grin on his face as he did so.
Kye shrugged some. “I’m not going to pretend like I’m not,” he said, hand already flying up to fix his messy hair again. That was one of the only downsides to being so small and young: everyone wanting to mess up his hair.
Blake moved his hand away so Kye could fix his hair, still smiling softly. They leaned their head back against the tree, letting out a soft sigh.
Finishing, Kye leaned back against Blake again with a small hum. "Mmm, you're warm," he whispered.
“Yes living beings typically are.” Blake whispered back. “Though I suppose I’m technically not alive.”
Kye tilted his head back, narrowing his eyes at Blake. "If you're not alive, I'm dead thirteen times over," he deadpanned. And it wasn't a lie.
“Fine then we are both now legally dead. How do you do fellow dead person.” Blake replied, managing to keep a straight face.
Kye took Blake's hand and shook it, dipping his head. "I'm feeling wonderful this fine definitely dead evening," he replied, just as seriously.
Blake shook Kye’s hand. “Marvelous. I’m feeling practically decomposable myself.” He said, trying not to laugh.
Kye however, couldn't hold it in. "Decomposable," he sputtered through laughter. "That's… that's a good one, I'm sorry I couldn't hold it in," he finished, nearly coughing.
Blake finally cracked himself, beginning to laugh himself. They were very proud of the joke themself. “I-it’s okay.” He got out through laughter.
Kye actually did end up coughing some, getting tickled at the feeling having fun with Blake. As well as the funny joke of course. “I really like having time like this. I know we do it a lot, but I still like being with you,” he said, having finally calmed down some.
“Me too. Being big is actually pretty nice too.” Blake admitted, his own laughter stopping as well.
"Yeah?" he asked, smiling up at Blake. "I like having you this way too," Kye added, tapping Blake's thigh with a hand. "I'm still short, but less drastically this way. All the gods are way too tall," he said teasingly.
“They are!” Blake agreed, chuckling softly. They actually didn’t mind feeling short sometimes though. “Like what’s the reason for it besides making us all feel small?” He asked, not super genuinely.
((Omg how would Mother react to hearing about Blake lmao))
