Kye gave Blake one last squeeze before pulling away. “Come on, let’s do something while you’re big again,” he said before moving to get off of his friend.
Kye gave Blake one last squeeze before pulling away. “Come on, let’s do something while you’re big again,” he said before moving to get off of his friend.
"Just make sure not to make too much trouble," Derlik finally spoke up, chuckling a bit. He smiled some, looking over at the two.
"Unless you want to. Then go right ahead."
Blake looked over at Derlik, nodding in acknowledgment while smiling softly. “Okay we’ll be careful.” They said, waiting for Kye to get up.
Kye looked at Derlik, completely confused at first. He was warning them away from doing something problematic? Then the second part was said. Ah, that was more like it. “Okay! Love you!” Kye chirped, now standing on the ground.
Blake stood up as well, grabbing on to Kye’s hand so he wouldn’t get lost with wherever they decided to go.
"Love you too! Keep safe, okay? Seriously." Derlik smiled, waving goodbye. "You know which gods to avoid." Derlik relaxed on the boulder. This was more like it, this was much better than before.
“Yeah, I know. Be back soon!” Kye said, already taking Blake with them towards the tree line. He really didn’t know what they were going to do, really, but he wanted his friend to enjoy themself.
Blake followed close behind him. “Where are we gonna go?” They asked, a wide smile on their face.
Kye turned around, now walking backwards. He shrugged, grinning goofily before turning around. Seconds later he turned back around and started pulling him towards one of the trees near by. “Up here,” he said, finally having something in mind he knew Blake would like. It wasn’t as much his thing, but it would make both of them happy.
“Up the tree?” He questioned. He of course wouldn’t mind climbing the tree, it’d be fun. They just wanted to make sure they were on the same page as Kye.
Kye tilted his head some. “Well… yeah. Is… that okay?” he asked, suddenly feeling a bit concerned. He had always climbed up here himself, Blake usually along for the ride. The boy hadn’t considered the fact they might not be able to get up themselves.
“Yes of course, let’s go!” He said excitedly, shoving at the other gently. “I’ll follow you, okay?”
It pleased him, seeing Blake so eager, even to the point of them giving a playful push. He laughed some before shimmying up the trunk towards the first branch. When he reached it, from there he used them to start pulling himself up further. For being so skinny, he wasn’t half bad at doing so.
((Why did I just get a very strong visual of Kye slithering up the tree like a fucking snake-))
Blake climbed up after him. They had a bit of an easier time because they were taller than Kye.
(Omfg nooo lmao)
Reaching the top, Kye noticed that Blake was quite literally just behind him. He gave them a small smile, reaching out a hand to help them onto the thick branch he chose to sit on.
Blake smiled back at him, reaching out a hand to take Kye’s offered one, letting the other pull him up onto the branch. “That wasn’t so hard.”
Kye tugged Blake to himself a bit before pointing at the stars. “Ta daaaa. You get to be up here normally now,” he said with a small laugh, doing jazz hands as well.
Blake laughed, looking up at the sky. “Why thank you for giving me the full size star gazing experience.”
“Do you know the names of any of them?” Kye asked, teasing some. This was one of the first things they had done together. Watching the stars. It was the same question he had asked then too.
“Nope I’m a total stargazing noob.” He said jokingly, laughing softly. Blake smiled over at Kye.
Kye let a smug grin cross his features. “You see those three there? That’s Orion’s belt,” he said pointing up to the sky. The funny part about it was that he still had no idea if it actually was or not.
Blake laughed again, shoving him gently, not enough for him to actually fall out of the tree or anything though. “Oh shush, I tried to teach you.”
Kye smiled, really enjoying the way Blake laughed. Oh, if only he had his phone on him, he would have totally recorded the sound to listen to it again and again. He laughed as well, his cheeks feeling a bit warm at being called out. “I can’t help I’m not as smart as you,” he said, booping Blake on the nose.
“Well I suppose that’s true.” They said teasingly, a wide grin on their face. “Not everyone can be a genius like me, I forgot.”
“You? Forget? Really?” Kye mocked, continuing in their joking. They were both human in the long run, no matter what their ages. They were bound to get things wrong and forget things.
