Samual and Sarah continued flying, passing the dragon.
Samual and Sarah continued flying, passing the dragon.
Though unclear of what it was doing it looked like it was crying, curling up in a large crevasse from the rocky wall.
Samual and Sarah suddenly stopped. Sarah continued to chant, the strain pulsing across her forehead. Very powerful magic was holding her back.
They started to slowly descend.
"Sarah, what's wrong?!"
The green lump shifted when she heard the voices, but paid no mind and continued to cover themselves with their wings, and since the whipping of the wind was no longer hitting their ears and making them deaf to the world you could indeed hear quiet sobs coming from her.
Sarah had stopped chanting. They started to actually fall. With a few words and a hand gesture, they were gliding.
"Someone's crying…" Said Sarah.
"It's coming from there." Samual pointed to the green lump. They landed next to it.
She took a second to peak out from behind their wings, looking at them with sad cyan eyes, still hiding their face, it was clear that they didn't want to be seen like this; a big, tough and scary dragon, crying over what seemed like nothing.
"Are you okay?" Sarah went up to the dragon.
Samual sucked in a breath. If the dragon moved to hurt her…
She glanced away for a moment and shook her head, her wings lowering slowly to droop at her sides.
"Do you need help?" Sarah didn't like to see people cry. It was one of her weak points.
"I've been searching for hours, I can't find her." She choked out, staring to the distance in hopes of spotting her friend.
Sarah looked at Samual. He just shrugged. He wasn't one to make decisions.
"I could help you look."
"No, she's probably gone by now… She's too nice for her own good, that foam-brain probably killed her just to hurt me further…" They said, bringing a claw to their chest and squeezed themselves until a thin trail of red blood trickled down their scales and lapis blue claws.
Sarah didn't know who the dragon was talking about, but now she was certain she wanted to help in any way.
(I don't know how to respond to that)
(um… have your character do something that might be seen as a threat but it isn't really..?)
Soáki looked at Nmere “You think we should go back?”
Nmere: “We’ll see. I’m going to take a nap.”
(Okay, I can do that!)
The dragon suddenly turned around and knocked Sarah down with one talon, jumping off the cliff with her claws outstretched and dived to the ground with a snarl, it all happened so quickly it was hard to prosses what had just unfolded.
Samual had started to rush to follow the dragon when he was stopped by a faint sound.
"Samual…" Sarah had a slash across both of her shoulders.
"Sarah!" He rushed over to her.
"Get me my… spell…book…" Sarah was losing consciousness.
Samual quickly handed her the spellbook. She feebly pushed it back into his hands.
"You… have to…"
Samual panicked. He wasn't one to use magic.
Sarah pointed to a page.
"This one…"
The dragon was on the ground, panting, as an eagle-like bird twice the size of Samual was pinned beneath her claws, one going straight through its wing before she started slowly rising up to the ledge again, the bird still in her grips but it was slowly turning to the same color of her scales.
(oof, too soon)
(it's fine)
Samual frantically stares at the page, Sarah slowly slipping away.
You have to do this! His voice screamed in his head.
He shakenly began to read, but his voice became stronger the longer he read.
Halfway from here to there
here my broken call
heal this wounded bloodied soul
bring them back to me
let them breathe and walk again
as you cause the blind to see
heal their broken body
and let peace restore.
A warm aura surrounded Sarah. The slash on her shoulders was quickly closing. By the time Samual finished, she was whole again.
"You did it, Samual."
She looked conflicted, like happy but in her eyes a feeling of deep sadness, like seeing something you love but the realization that it'll be gone one day.
"Samual, you have to go check on the dragon."
"What?! it tried to kill you!"
"If it wanted me dead, I would be dead!"
She looked down at her claws and dropped the huge bird in front of them, as she did so deep scratches were shown on her sharp hands and forearms, dripping red liquid on the stone, she tried to limp away but kept stumbling to rocks on her right that caught her, but not without scraping her scales painfully, before long she gave up and fell to her side, lightheaded from the loss of blood. A hollow thonk noise came from her direction as she collapsed, knocking her head on a bolder and going unconscious, her breathing shallowing into a slow rhythm.
