He groaned. "That man is giving us this wonderful dinner for free and you steal from him?"

Kaimana was seated near a girl who looked to be very intently playing some video game, and she raised an eyebrow. Looking away, she studied her surroundings with interest. It's nice. A bit fancier than I'm used to, but I guess that's to be expected, considering an ice cream shop is the fanciest place I've been to in the past year.

"Ssshhhh! I'm a thief, what do you expect?" She felt a pang of shame when he said that. I guess old habits really do die hard, she thought miserably. Maybe I should return it.

He released a sigh, pocketing the 50. "No more stealing tonight, okay?"

She nodded, ducking her head. "Sorry…"

He grabbed her hand. "It's fine for now. If that man is rich enough to just carry a 50 in his pocket, he's rich enough to not care if it's missing."

Ari grinned as the trio finished building.

Ari shook her head and minimized the screen. Her eyes actually lifted for the first time to examine the room. Geez, Mom… you want me to make rich friends?

She nodded again, not sure what to say.

(I grabbed Sage for Ari, but I can make another character if you want! I actually wanted to use her, then talked myself out of it, then realized that she would actually be better for something like this XD)

"What?" She looked up at him, curious what it was this time. If it's another declaration of his love, I don't think I'll be able to handle it any more gracefully

"I love you. No matter what, alright?"

Tessa smiled shyly, trying to suppress her blush this time. "Alright." Right, I gotta say it too. "I love you too." Her smile grew slightly. "Every demonic part."

"Don't forget the elf," he joked, smiling back.

"Faerie," she corrected with a smile. "Elves are descendants of the Fae, at least the ones I know of."

"While we're on the topic….I'm thinking about going and facing my dad."

She paled and her eyes widened. "No."

"No, for real, hear me out. Everyone tells me that I was supposed to be a doomsday bomb on the Vanguard, the one thing that would wipe y'all out for good. That was my sole purpose; the one thing he couldn't do. I'm the descendant of a god, a Fae, and a demon. If there was anything that could take him down, it would be me."

She chewed her lip, running the possibilities through her head. She spent enough time with Cinthia to know a thing or two about battle tactics. "You'd need training," she reluctantly said. "…But it could work." She didn't like it–any of it–but he was right. Agdrin wouldn't see it coming. We shouldn't be thinking about this. We're on a date, not the battlefield!

"I told you hear so I wouldn't get yelled at for it," He explained, looking down at his hands.
