The Count's castle surly has multiple lumber rooms.
That's what you get for not heeding Dracula's warning, Jon-boy!
(Okay, now it's getting my attention! I'll try to read more during the day if I can. 24 chapters left to read.)
(I've had a long day today, so I'm not gonna read tonight.)
(Okay, going to start another book to read along side Dracula.)
(Doing a book from the modern-era now.)
The Soulkeepers Chapter 1: The Boy Who Died
The chapter title gives me Harry Potter vibes.
Okay, that's one hell of an opening sentence!
(Since it's literally the first sentence I'm going to share it.)
Death lived up to Jacob's expectations.
Seems like the main setting is in Hawaii, a state/place that I've always wanted to go to!
The entire first paragraph has similar energy to the first sentence, and I approve!
Darn…. I was kind of hoping for Jacob to become a ghost, but he just woke up in a hospital. Let's see how this plays out.
I hate it when I can't remember things, so I feel the mc there!
That was a short chapter, and I think that the author could've put the start of chapter 2 in the first one.
The Soulkeepers Chapter 2: The Uncle Who Wasn't
I'm not sure what to think about the chapter title…. Yet.
I too hate it when people are constantly waking me up, Jacob, but the nurses are just doing their jobs so…. Yeah.
Okay, I kind of understand the chapter title now. Apparently Jacob has a long-lost uncle who just randomly appeared in his hospital room. Also, the uncle watched his nephew sleep…. Creep, related or not that isn't cool!
Apparently Jacob's dad changed his name. Why though?
So, dad's dead, Jacob's evidently been in an accident or something, and now this strange man is making an attempt to come into his life…. I can only relate to discovering having a long-lost relative. Some years ago I discovered that I have another sister that I have yet to meet and talk to. My siblings have talked to her online, but haven't met her in person.
So, he was in an accident. Worse news: his mom's missing.
John, dude, you literally just met your nephew, get your hands away from him!
Wow, that's nice. I know that Jacob probably would've found out about that later, but you should've kept that to yourself, John! "Hey you. You're finally awake. I'm your uncle. You were in an accident with your mom, who is now missing. Oh, and btw, some women have gone missing in the area and six of them have been found murdered!"
Way to make an impression…. Smh.
The hell is up with society that says that it's wrong for a guy to cry? I hate that. Dude just found out that his mom is missing, could possibly be dead and or killed, and you're going to have him bottle up his emotions because "men don't cry"? I'm sorry, but anyone that's close to their mom would either be balling their damn eyes out or worried as hell at this point! Likely both!
