"Thanks. Damn it, now our plans are ruined," he said with a sad voice.
"Thanks. Damn it, now our plans are ruined," he said with a sad voice.
"No they're not," Zach assured him, kissing his cheek lightly. "We can just come back."
"Yeah, I guess we can." He leaned his head against Zach's shoulder. "It's like you said earlier, you know. If this road doesn't take us where we want to, then… we'll just have to make a new one."
He laughed a little, kissing the top of Felix's head. "You're right. Now let's go get your stuff."
Felix started the car again, turning it around and into the other lane to go back home. He felt a bit nauseous. He didn't want to go back home. Even though his parents weren't as crazy as Zach's, there was still a reason to why he had left. But he had to, cause if they found his computer he would almost literally be dead.
"How are…how are you parents?" Zach asked, rather nervously. He was used to a insane system of a family, and wasn't sure how Felix's family was.
"Except for setting me up for an arranged marriage? They're fine, I guess." Felix kept his eyes on the road. "I get annoyed with them quiet a lot, but that would be more me than them. They're fine," he repeated, " but I don't go very well with them."
“Okay.” He nodded, content with that answer. “As long as they don’t hurt you.”
"No." Felix hesitated a bit. That wasn't exactly true, but it was a long time ago. At least a month ago. "No, they don't."
He nodded, looking over at Felix. “Are you lying?”
"Maybe a bit," he muttered, looking away from Zach.
“Well,” He said with a small smile. “I’m not the mindreader. You could’ve denied it. How are they really?”
"No, I couldn't. I don't wanna lie to you." Felix bit his lower lip. "It was a long time ago, really. They haven't hurt me in… a while. And I fight back if they ever try."
“Good. Not something I could ever do,” Zach admitted, kissing his cheek lightly.
"I've been trained. When I was younger, my parents thought it would be good if I could defend myself. They made me practice aikido. My sensei showed me some karate too. I guess they never thought of that I could use it against them." Felix smiled bitterly. "I never hurt them, though. I just… defend myself."
“That makes sense.” Zach nodded. “How far will it be?”
"I don't know. We should be able to make it there by tomorrow morning if we stop only for food and a hotel." He thought about it for a second. "I think that I might know a shortcut."
"What is it?" Zach asked, curious how he knew it and what it was.
"Well… there should be a highway, about a kilometer north. I think I have a map here somewhere…" He pointed to a hatch in the car. "Could you see if you can find it? It might be in there."
Zach only nodded, opening the hatch and, indeed, pulling out a map. "Do you want me to unfold it, or…? You seem kind of busy."
"Yes please, sunshine." Felix leaned over to quickly kiss his cheek, still keeping his eyes on the road.
Zach blushed a little, smiling as he carefully unfolded the map. It wasn't a large one, he could fit it easily on something as small as the dashboard.
"Try to find where we are right now. The should be a big highway a bit north." He glanced at the map.
"Mhm." Zach nodded, finding it quickly and pointing to it. "Yeah, we're here."
"Good." Felix quickly looked over at the map. "Is there any road we can take to get over to the highway before it parts," he pointed, "over here?"
