"I…" Zach sucked in a breath, then let it out. "I know it'll be hard. And I know you're human. I want to be with you just as much."
"I…" Zach sucked in a breath, then let it out. "I know it'll be hard. And I know you're human. I want to be with you just as much."
The voices were back again. Echoing his mind, they were hard to ignore. Felix shut his eyes hard, pressed a hand against the point between his eyes trying to shut them out. "Do you, really? Is it really me you love, or do you just not want to be lonely?" The words slipped out, and he regretted them the second they were spoken.
Zach's eyes widened, and he pressed a warm hand to Felix's cold cheek. "I wouldn't be with anyone else. That's the truth."
"Yeah. You say that." He looked down. "But we all know that I'm a liar, so why couldn't you be one as well? And we still have nowhere to live. The money won't last forever. And with your parents after us it will be harder to even walk out on the streets."
"I'm not lying about it, love," Zach urged, dropping the hand to his shoulder. "We can make money, then. Get a job."
Felix shook his head. "I will try, but it's not that easy. I spent months trying to find a job before I left. They don't want someone like me. They want someone who is completely stabile, someone who doesn't have panic attacks and mood swings all the time. They want someone who is good with people, who can be social. And I'm none of that."
"I can get a job, then," Zach argued, still determined. "I should do something." He glanced to the gray ribbon. "I'll do something for the both of us."
"That'll take months," Felix wispered, feeling the panic and anxiety arriving. "Even if you get a job, even if we both get a job, it'll still take months before we have enough money to rent somewhere to live. And food. We need food. Oh, God, Zach, how are we gonna make this? We have nothing!" He wasn't even angry anymore. Just desperate. The voices got louder, surrounding his every thought. You can't do this! He doesn't love you! Just go back to where you came from, you will never survive like this!
"Felix." Zach said, reaching out a hand to his cheek. "You'e right, it'll take time, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. We can just live like we are, me with a job, until we get enough money to rent an apartment or something."
"Do you think we can actually make it?" Felix asked in a small voice, trying to push away the tears and the anxiety. "I want to believe you so bad, but… I don't know."
Zach only nodded, humming his answer. “I’m sure. Nothing can happen to us. I won’t let it.”
"Okay." Felix leaned his head against Zach's chest, calming down a bit. "I guess I'll just have to trust you on this one."
He nodded, wrapping his arms around him. "You will. We'll be fine, I promise."
Felix curled up next to him, just enjoying his warmth and company and the rays of early morning sun. "Okay." He took a deep breath. "I'm sorry that I yelled at you. I just… paniced. Sorry."
"No, no, you're fine. I don't blame you," Zach said, running a hand through his hair.
Felix sighed and leaned back against Zach. "Okay. Jobs. Food. Apartment. Okay. Where do we start?"
"Well, are you hungry?" He asked, leaning his head on his shoulder.
"No, I'm Felix," he smirked, trying not to laugh at his own terrible joke.
(I'm sorry I just had to I regret nothing)
((ive been laughing for about ten minutes now instead of typing back my god))
Zach laughed a little, kissing his cheek. "Yeah, okay, Felix. Let me rephrase that. Do you want food?"
(That's how incredibly funny I am)
Felix still had a stupid smile on his face as he responded, for real this time. "Not really. But… if I know myself correctly I will probably start complaining about feeling hungry in an hour or so anyways, so we should probably get some. How about you?"
He shrugged. "I'm fine for now. We can get some food for you, though, and then maybe drive for a bit until we find a town that doesn't seem like it'll fall apart in two seconds," Zach said, smiling down at him.
"Seems like a plan." Felix got on his feet, reaching out a hand to pull Zach up from the ground.
Zach took it with a smile, standing up and holding his hand in Felix's as the two begun to walk.
Felix felt smol as he walked next to Zach. "I don't think I have ever thought about how tall you are," he mumbled looking up at him.
