(I thought we already did? I thought we said science was next or something.)
The teacher gave the class the rest of class to start on the homework, but before anyone could get their pencil down, the bell rings.
“Already?” Zuri says in disbelief. She shakes her head and packs up her stuff.
(Oh I forgot. That's fine with me)
Loren shrugged. "Well then. I guess next class then…"
"Does anyone else know where the class is? I mean, I do, but does anyone else want to lead the way?" Emrys asked, stuffing her notebook in her backpack and tucking the pencil into a pocket of her backpack.
"I probably couldn't lead us back to the dorm, so not me," Zuri says, hefting her bag back over her shoulder.
"All I know is we have science class next."
"Oooh science," Loren enthused. "Uh… I could try the map again? I don't know…" she pulled up the map on her phone again and tried to find where they were and what direction they were facing.
"Here," Emrys said, pointing at a building. "We're there, and facing that way." She points toward one edge of the screen. "Do you all like science?" Emrys asked, looking between Loren and Zuri.
"Ah, thanks. And I mean, I'm okay at it. At least I'm better at science than everything else…" Loren quickly found the optimal path and started along the hallways. "Alright I think I know where I'm going now."
“I enjoy the natural sciences, so I guess yes my answer. And there’s nothing wrong with the other sciences either.” Zuri responds, following Loren.
"I hope the teacher actually teaches, instead of… whatever that math teacher was doing." Emrys sighed and spun in a small circle. "We'd better be getting a nice, boring introduction into whatever science we're doing. Sign a few forms, take a few pre-tests."
"Yeah, sameeee," she agreed. Loren turned right at an intersection of the hallways, and then left, into a classroom. "I guess this is it…"
“I hope we dissect things. Setting things on fire is fun too.” Zuri says, not knowing the teacher is right next to her.
"Oh, yeah, totally. Especially when they're not supposed to be on fire." Emrys agreed, also not noticing the teacher. "Honestly, this class already has a super low bar. I mean, that math class…" She shuddered.
"I know right?" Loren had turned around to wait for her friends, but had turned the opposite way, and also didn't notice the teacher. "But dissections? Ew, that's honestly kinda gross, what with formaldehyde and all that."
"I guess. It's kinda cool, though, seeing the inside of something." Emrys said, shrugging. "Plus… sharp knives. You know, if you don't like the smell, I could… speak it away for you. With my super fun magic voice," She offered.
"What, you can do that?" she asked amazed. "That would honestly be so. Freaking. Cool!!" Loren exclaimed. "You're the best friend ever!" she said as she embraced Emrys in a bear hug.
"Aww, you're welcome. I honestly do it all the time. It's basically the only thing I use my magic for, anyways." Emrys grinned and returned the hug.
“You better not speak away anything I dissect or set on fire!” Zuri argues. Then she smiles mostly to herself and walks down to the desks.
In the carpeted area there are the normal desks arranged in a grid, but in the back is tiled floors and large slate tables. The kind you find pencil marks all over because they’re good for writing on.
(Who wants to act the teacher)
(Idk but I’m not good at making characters on the fly.)
(Yeah neither am I. @MasterOfRellusion?)
(Will do. I can't guarantee it'll be good, but here we go…)
"Class has started, students. Take a seat." A young man walks to the front of the class and sets a pile of books and folders down on his desk. "My name is Dr. Waylin. Welcome to Magical Sciences. I'm passing out a piece of paper with our plan for the year. Read it in silence, then feel free to ask any questions you may have when everyone's finished reading." Dr. Waylin pulls a stack of papers from one of the folders and starts handing them out, his honey-colored eyes darting from face to face.
"Ooh, I'm liking him more already," Emrys whispered to the two girls. "He's giving us a syllabus!" She glanced over at the teacher and grinned. "And, I mean, his teal hair is awesome."
"Ooh yeah!" Loren replied back eagerly. When she recieved hers, she scanned it eagerly but groaned when she saw that there was going to be a mandatory test on what they would learn over the course of the year at the end. "Ugh, finals."
“Science and magic? I’m good to go in this class no matter what.” Zuri smirks. Her two favorite subjects put together. It couldn’t be bad could it?
She accepts the syllabus and turns to whisper to the other girls.
“I wonder if we’ll do a get to know the class/school this at all today. There could be other people in this school with the same powers as us!”
