The word y'all repeats in Violet's head over and over and her eye twitches as she stirs Ben's drink, her back turned to Miki.
"No, no. You're fine. A friend of Silver's is a friend of ours. Though it is curious that she has family still. Most of us don't."
Ben nods, huffing again.
"Yes, yes, I get it. I just- It'd be nice if a few of you guys would think for yourselves. I mean, going out alone with Gabriel isn't a smart move. You've known him for, what, four hours? What if he was… with… the…" He slows down and his eyes widen. He looks to the window.

Miki finished her biscuit and folded her hands in front of her, consciously trying to not annoy anyone any more. She knew how irritated people got at her sometimes. "Um. Yeah. Well, Silver and I are streetrats. Were. I guess she's not anymore. So I don't know if anyone really knew we were sisters. We don't have any other family. Our mother died when Silver was a baby and I raised her and myself since I was like five. So yeah. I'm not surprised no one cared about finding any of her family."
"I'm sorry. I'm so tired, Ben, I know I make you mad. I really don't think and I know it's dangerous and I'm sorry. I wont go out anymore without your permission."
Violet closed her eyes.
They killed our families, idiot. They didn't just kidnap us. I had… I had a family.
She purses her lips together and reopens her eyes.
Don't you dare cry, Violet Parks. Don't. You. Dare.
Ben grabs Silver's arm, still staring out the window.
He's silent for a moment more, then his words come flowing out faster than they can be heard. "Он чертовски крылатый эксперимент, который случайно обнаружился. О мое слово Он собрал информацию и направляется НАЗАД. ОНИ ЗНАЮТ, ГДЕ МЫ! VIOLET!!!"
Violet quickly turns around, startled by the loud cry, and Ben turns too, his eyes wide.
"What? What Ben?" She asks worridely.
"Они идут! Они знают, где мы! МОЙ ДОМ!"
She sets the coffee mug down and calmly walks over to him, taking his hands.
"Love, English please. Calm down."
Silver almost shrieked as Ben grabbed her and started yelling in Russian. Miki whirled on her barstool, eyes wide.
Dude, he speaks Russian too? Wow these people are cool. He sounds terrifying though. He might be worse than Gabe.
"Мои дети, Violet! Они найдут вас всех! Что я делаю? Они собираются быть здесь в любую минуту!" HE worriedly looks into her eyes and squeezes her hands. "Help."
She nods. "Good. Now translate the rest for me, Love. It'll be okay. We have time."
He growls, turning around and pulling at his hair again. "AGH! НЕТ МЫ!"
Violet sighs. I really need to learn Russian.
He turns around. "The- the guy, with the- the…..?? WINGS! HE'S BAD!"
Violet looks relieved that he's found his English for a moment, but then is horrified.
"What? How?"
He grabs her shoulders, his eyes still wide. "Думаю об этом! He случайно появился после попытки схватить Silver с неба and then just ПОСЛЕ ТОГО, ЧТО! He was gathering!!! Information!"
Violet nods, though not understanding over half of his words. "I Just need the rest of your story Ben! I just- I need to understand the whole thing."
He growls again and turns around. "Я ПЫТАЮСЬ!!!"
Miki raised her eyebrows, thoroughly confused by Violet and Ben's lack of communication. After a second she slid off the stool and walked over to Silver, pulling her away from them. Silver had her hands over her ears, her body curling into a fetal position as she tried to not explode from Ben's panic beside her.
"Hey, Sil? What's wrong, honey? Let me help, babe."
Silver slumped to the floor, focusing on her breathing, sorting Ben's emotions and keeping them separate from her own and for the love of everything trying to not think about what he was implying about Gabe. In her heart she knew he was right, had somehow known all along and had denied it. But now she couldn't face the implications because then it would all be her fault.
"No." She whispered to her sister. "No. It's too much. I'll hurt you."
Violet takes Ben's hand. "Let me try. Gabriel? Gabriel is working with the Scientists?"
Ben nods. "YES!"
"Okay, okay. How do we know this? hmmm…. He… you said something about Sil- Silver? OH! Because Silver said when she meant him he grabbed her? And she fell??"
His nodding intensifies. "YES!"
"And… And…" She looks to the ground, squinting, "And.. AND THEN HE LEft all of the sudden? Oh! He was gathering information!!" She smiles, bouncing a bit, and he grabs her hands.
"No! It's not happy!"
She stops bouncing and dusts her skirt off.
"Ahh, yes. Sorry. I just-"
"Violet we have to leave!"
Silver whimpered, Violet's words seeping into her mind and she curled up tighter on the floor. It's my fault, it's my fault, it's my fault.
Miki clenched her teeth, frustrated that she couldn't help Silver but knowing the urgency of the situation didn't yield her any time to try. The Elementals had been spied on and betrayed. Their safe house was no longer safe. She went to the kitchen and snatched up her backpack.
"Where will y'all go? Do you have other safe houses? Do you have backup supplies?"
Ben glares Miki’s way, walking past Violet and into his room down the hallway.
Violet forces a smile at Miki.
“Yes, Love. We’re prepared.”
Please leave.
She rubs her temples and follows Ben, returning from the room with a phone sized device.
“I- I have the location on Cage and Hush, but I don’t think we tagged Dash, Leo and Shadow?” She calls down the hall.
Ben returns from the room with a backpack and a glare.
He looks over Violets shoulder at the device.
“Blast it.” He mumbles. He runs his hands through his hair twice, then brings it up in a pony tail.
“You have the car. Take Red and the- the-“ He gestures towards Sung and Tod. “Those. And Silver. I’ll take my bike and look for the others.”
Violet nods, “right.”
Miki grinned inwardly at Ben calling her 'Red'. Whatever works, rich boy. She knelt in front of Silver. "Come on, babe. We gotta go." She looked up at Violet. "What are we gonna do about her wings? Can she turn them invisible like the other guy could?"
Silver shook her head, trying to pull herself out of the spiraling void that was trying to swallow her. "No." she whispered. "Only Gabe can do that."
Shadow and Leo started heading up the stairs of the parking garage
Miki grinned inwardly at Ben calling her 'Red'. Whatever works, rich boy. She knelt in front of Silver. "Come on, babe. We gotta go." She looked up at Violet. "What are we gonna do about her wings? Can she turn them invisible like the other guy could?"
Silver shook her head, trying to pull herself out of the spiraling void that was trying to swallow her. "No." she whispered. "Only Gabe can do that."
Violet turns to face the girls, shoving the device in her purse and swinging the purse over her shoulder.
"She'll be fine. Last time we had her in the trunk, which is pretty large, but once we get Hush we should be good. Hush may be able to turn them invisible? But I don't know."
She strides towards them, sitting by Silver.
"Love, it'll be alright. C'mon. Let's help who we can and get out of here."
Ben heads out the garage door on his motorcycle, and a few of his neighbors smile as he passes, though they're used to him ignoring it.
Shadow and Leo started heading up the stairs of the parking garage
Cage sighs, not liking being ignored but used to it. He follows the guys, staring at the sick sky on his way up. The clouds swirled and grumbled and he tucked some hair behind his ear, feeling his tummy swirl and grumble too.

Once they got to the top shadow pulled out his phone and sat down he rapidly started typing
Cage leans over watching Shadow type, trying to keep his attention off of the storm closing in.
We’re so high up. If someone caught us here there wouldn’t be an escape.
Sung feels a little in the way, but she wants to be able to be near the others in the chance that her help might soon be needed. Tod's hand reaches for hers and she gently accepts it.
She looks with concern at Silver but Sung doesn't know how she'd be able to help the winged elemental or any of the others for that matter, at least now.
She squeezes her little brother-in-law's hand and waits for Violet to lead them, content to follow and stay out of the way.
Shadow murmured suddenly “damn firewall”
Leo spoke looking up “ we should probably head back”
Shadow put his phone in his pocket and said “you’re right” and he stood up
Cage rubs his collarbone anxiously.
“Ben is probably worried. Maybe we can do this tomorrow?”
“Yeah” shadow said and started to head over to the stairs
Leo walked to the stairs as well
I just wanted to help him. I thought if I just loved him enough and showed him that he had people who cared, he would see.
Silver knew Gabe's actions weren't her fault, even if her actions had put her friends in danger.
I care too much.
Maybe it came with the territory, being able to feel everything always.
But now her friends needed her; she needed to help fix the mess she had caused. Methodically Silver filtered through each of her emotions and packaged them up, putting them somewhere deep inside where she could deal with them later, so she could focus now. A coffee mug shattered in the kitchen as she took a shaky breath and opened her eyes. She gave a little jump, not realizing both Miki and Violet were crouching so close in front of her.
"Yeah," her voice comes out in a croaky whisper, throat raw and tight. "Yeah, I'll be fine in the trunk."
Miki nodded. "Okay, babe. Where's your stuff? We gotta go."
Silver frowned. "I don't… have any stuff."
Miki's eyebrows flew up. "You don't have a pack?"
"We've kind of been running for the last few days and I didn't bring anything from the shed I was hiding in before."
Miki blinked. There was too much in that sentence for her to sort through at the moment. "Okay. Well. We gotta fix that soon, cuz you need a pack. Come on, let's go." She rose to her feet and held out a hand for Silver, hauling her up too.
“Yeah” shadow said and started to head over to the stairs
Leo walked to the stairs as well
Cage trails a feet feet behind them, staring at his feet. He trips, falling over but catching hisself with him palms. He slowly rises, biting his lip from pain near his knee. He moves into a sitting position and pulls his knee up to look at it.
“It’s just a scratch. I’m fine. I’m fine.”
He shakily exhales and stands.
After standing he looks out at the dark sky and for a moment thinks he’s seen a person. He squints.
“No… no. Nobody’s there.”
Violet stands back up.
“Alright then. Just us girls,” she looks over them, realizing Todd is still there, “oh, and Todd.” She gives him a friendly smile.
“I suggest you gather anything you may need, then we’ll head off. The sooner we leave, the better. I think I’ll go check for Hush, Dash, Cage, or Leo’s stuff upstairs.”
Miki parked Silver on a barstool while she raided the kitchen for non-perishable food, and any other useful, portable things that she could stuff into her backpack. She reached toward the glass bowl of fruit in the middle of the island but Silver snatched her hand out, hovering it in midair. Miki's arm stopped and her eyes went wide, staring at her sister.
"What the–"
"Don't touch Ben's bowl." Silver said, voice absent, as if she was thinking about something else.
Miki tried to pull her hand back and succeeded. Silver lowered her arm.
"What did you do??"
Silver blinked, her eyes focusing as she realized what Miki was talking about. She looked down at her own hand. "Oh. Sorry. I don't realize when I'm doing that. I can touch and move stuff without actually touching it. It's how I control the air."
Miki stared at her in silence for a few moments before letting out a low whistle.
"You are so cool, Silver."
