@SaltyLasagna

@SaltyChistmasCookie You can download various page categories as an excel file (i.e. characters, countries, etc.). I did this and then I uploaded them to a google drive so I can use them on the go, but since you don't have access to internet while on the road, you could download a Microsoft excel app and use it that way?

how do you do that?

@Mercury Beta Tester

(On desktop)

  • Click your name at the top right hand corner of the page
  • One of the options will be 'Notebook Downloads'. Click it and you will have the option to download parts of or all of your worldbuilding

You have a range of formats to download in. Outline (TXT) is the most basic and very difficult to navigate.
Excel (CSV) is the easiest to open and navigate, as long as you have Microsoft Excel (or other software, maybe LibreOffice could open it?)

hey so uuuuuuuuuuuh idk if i'm supposed to do this but a suggestion i have is moving the "delete topic" button ever so slightly because i nearly deleted my topic instead of posting to it at one point :,) just an idea tho sorry if i'm imposing or anything

@SaltyLasagna

That or making it look different and more noticeable than the "post reply" button because they are close together and look very similar.

Or you could put it next to the "edit topic" button at the top….

But still, I think if it wasn’t next to the post reply button, I think that it’d be better with it where someone is least likely to tap it when typing or trying to post a reply…

I think that having formating buttons (bold, italics, spoilers, etc.) would be nice, for everyone doesn't know how to do the coding for it. Even just making a discussion that lists how to do these things would be extremely helpful!

There is a thread for that but I do second the idea!

Yeah, I found that thread in tutorials a few minutes after posting this. Kinda kicking myself for not looking for it sooner. Lol

But the button thing would be more convenient

I agree with this,

Something I kinda figured out… When I'm on my phone, I noticed the notifications only give me the unread in that certain discussion field.
For example, if I'm on a thread in general chat, I'm not going to see the unread roleplays I have, which is a slight inconvinence for me, but I assume that's just how the website functions….

Yeah… it is very inconvenient… also it is very hard to search for a thread when you are on a phone…

So the Free Plan has four things: characters, universes, locations, and items, right? Well, I was thinking, I don't really need items per se, so maybe you can choose the categories you have? So you can trade one category for something else if you don't need it, but you can only have four at a time (for the free version, anyway.)

@SaltyLasagna

I think that's a great idea, but at the same time, what system would be in place that would stop people from abusing their use of categories? Because if they could choose their 4 categories and switch it any time they like, what would be keeping them from constantly switching? And if you couldn't switch after choosing your categories, people might complain if they accidentally chose the wrong one and can't switch to the one they want.

It would be nice to have 'folders' of sorts for our characters so that we could put all of the secondary ones together, and the mains in a folder, and villains, etc.

wow. actually, thats a good idea.
