god, it's been so long since I've been back on this site, but I really want to get back into some writing. here's a prompt/plot i pumped out last year, but it's back. i'm thinking of starting of the rp a similar way that I did last time, but anyone can join!

The New Orlean's families are anything but ordinary, whispered through the depth of cobbled streets. Its unsafe business to raise your voice over a murmur. They have been here for years, decades–maybe centuries–infamous for family parties, ancestral threats, and the powers they're rumored to possess. Each of these four families have stayed clear of one another's paths, save for a few quarrel here and there. Little to their knowledge, this solidarity will begin to fracture on the faithful night of Mardi Gras, alight with spirits of the undead and trouble.

I want to give this rp more of a Victorian / Old money Louisiana, so keep that in mind. Unfortunately, there was a lot of racism and problems in America during this time, so POC characters are more than welcome…just important to keep realistic factors in mind :)

The Families: (Sorry in advance, this will be rather long, but it's worth reading…)

The Reapers: Also known as the Catoire family. Being one of the younger families, they have had to earned their place through a history of defeats and losses, but uprisings, earning them the titles of being a deadly enemy and as lethal as the Reaper himself. The members themselves are rather peaceful, only striking when they feel the need to, but wonderful negotiators as well. Their features range from auburn, red and brown hues, and dark eyes, easily recognizable in the streets. The Catoire's have the ability to reap what has been taken and belongs to them. Ruled by the Major Arcana Cards; Justice (The aspects of decisions and karma), Death, and The Tower) Most important descendants: The Red Ladies Inspired by these images: https://www.deviantart.com/jannaphia/art/THE-HARVEST-769283718, https://i.pinimg.com/originals/83/63/0e/83630e060efd071e1a2bcde9e3e971da.jpg)

The Necromancers: Also known as the LaTour Family. This is one of the oldest families and one of the most prestigious ones, held in high regards. The members are limited and few, not seen by many, though their presence is constantly felt. They tend to be peaceful, mysterious, and hard to read, though headstrong and know how to keep their place. LeTour's are known for their darker skin, ranging from caramel to obsidian tones, auburn eyes and the strange marks that they carry with them. This family's powers are strange and dark, giving them the ability to speak and raise armies of the dead…a power that cannot be placed in the wrong hands. Ruled by the Major Arcana Cards; Death, The Hanged Man, Wheel of Fortune, Strength.) The Seers: Also known as the Ardoin Family. Dangerous. A word that follows them constantly. Their ability to see and perceive, adapt and understand can be lethal, but helpful to those they are allied with. The Ardoin's are also among the oldest families, their history lengthy, as if they've been here from the beginning. The members of this family can be odd, very versatile in personality, though extremely wise. Recognizable by their lighter hair and skin, though they are usually affected by a lack of sight in most, earning them grey or watery blue eyes. Ruled by the Major Arcana Cards; The Moon (Dreams, Visions, Fears) The High Priestess and the Fool. The Shifters: Also known as the Mounier Family. This family can be strange, confusing most that meet them. Their ability to shift into lanky creatures, shadows, or even devils can terrify most, earning them a righteous spot in the streets. The Mounier's never quite have family traits that stay the same, some blondes, other brunettes, ranging to obsidian black locks, and the same, ever changing eyes. Be wary of them, for they are never as they seem. @ElderGod-Icefire

:DD you have no idea how happy I am to see you back, oh my god–

ANYWAYS UH last time my character was Fio LeTour, could I potentially revamp him and use him again?? does that work?

@_luxlibson

yes! go for it, even multiple characters are fine. I'm going to try and make 2 characters possibly? still have no idea with family but we'll see

@_luxlibson

There we go! Reusing some old characters

Name: Daus Sen Ardoin
Age: 19 years
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
Family: Seers or Ardoin's
Appearance: Daus could be described as having a lanky build, reaching about 6'3 in height, long limbs, broad shoulders, adding to his delicately tall physique. He moves slowly and with grace, his hand movements calm, quiet steps, and hushed voice. His skin is a light, toffee color, freckles adorning the bridge of his wide nose, heights of his cheeks, forehead and chin. His freckles intermix between dark splotches, caramel colors and even muted whites– a patchwork of color. His brows are thick, sparsely thread white hairs while his hair is the same color (as if devoid of color), falling in large curls around his head like a halo of bright white, which he occasionally ties back. Daus' eyes are narrow, almond shapes and a tawny brown, his thickly lined lashes the same white tone as his hair. He has a few piercings along his ears and a delicate septum, as well as family adorned white tattoos along his spine and reaching towards his neckline. It remains concealed except for the times it slips above his neckline.
Personality: Daus is a dreamer, quiet by nature and soft spoken. He's softly charming, extroverted by nature and a natural peacekeeper. He alway seems quite lost in his thoughts and can get confused easily. More artistic, trusts people easily, believes strongly in fate and karma, can be naive, falls in love easily. Cares fiercely for his family and careful with his work.
Usual Clothing: Daus doesn't especially care for loud, Creole designs, and instead opts for white and cream linen shirts and pants that stand out against his toffee toned skin. He enjoys layering linen shirts and sweaters, as well as neutral toned crochets and mesh. He opts for leather satchels and sandals.
Backstory: Daus has grown up in a very sheltered life, surrounded by many siblings and taught to keep his powers to himself and own knowledge. His family is small and has been residing at the family estate for several years, adding to Daus' lack of knowledge of the outside world. He's careful with his powers and being seen outside of his family circle, rendering him as quite an oddball to the people of New Orlean's. He fears for the other families–his older brother killed by a necromancer in the past and only instilling more apprehension. He longs for a taste of the outside world, but doubts he would be able to handle it without his sister by his side.
Likes and Dislike: Sweet fruit and tarts, dates, naps, his grandmother's perfume, his sister's voice.
Powers and Other: Daus has a knack for dreamscapes and tapping into the future through the subconscious. He can put people to sleep (through a lot of focus, practice, and slip-ups…) which has not been seen by the lineage in a few decades. Speaks a lot of French at the family estate and often slips it into his conversations.

Name: Delphi Anj Ardoine
Age: 20 years
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Family: Seers or Ardoin's
Appearance: Like her brother, Delphi's skin is a caramel tone, with many freckles littered all across it. Main focal points of these markings lay on the bridge of her nose, cheeks, Her long curls are pulled back into box braids that frame her face, half of her hair a deep chestnut brown and the rest the same bright, ashy-white as the whole of her family. The two colors are interwoven into the braids she sports, usually tied back in some intricate style her grandmother is able to do. Her eyes are both a cloudy white and framed by dark lashes, rendering her with poorer vision though not completely sightless. Her lips are dark and full and she is around 5'6 with wide hips, a shorter torso and a curvier build.
Personality: Practically the complete opposite of her brother and her entire family. She's loud and brash, can make necessary statements, sarcastic and can have a short temperwhen it comes to her sight or not being able to grasp onto her ability. She doesn't think through many of her choices, dutifully extroverted, yet passionate about her family and their safety. She is impatient and can lead her to making the wrong choices, overall charming.
Usual Clothing: She opts for some creme colored clothing as well, wearing a long, linen skirt, warm, earthy tones. She usually wears some head scarves to tie back her long braids, many deep oranges and auburns, which stand out nicely against her milky eyes and white hair. She's adorned in crystals as well, thick gold bangles, bracelets and anklets. She attempts to smoke as much as she can, easily found with some sort of cigar.
Likes and Dislikes: Smoking, rituals, ancestry, traditions, cards, spices, festivals, her brother's calm nature, getting her hair braided every month.
Other: Delphi has always strayed from her path as a seer when she was younger, looking towards necromancy. Her ancestors are always worried she may stray from her abilities with her difficulty tapping into her skillset. Daus, though younger, is much more advanced, only discouraging Deplhi.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Okay ya know what– @fromunderhill @Ya-boi-Ash do y'all remember this RP? If so would you be interested in doing it again? Because our triplets were fun lmao

@The-Dyonisia group

Name: Opale Catoire
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Family: Reapers/ Catoires
Appearance: Unlike most of her family, Opale has a light brown, almost ochre skin, due to her mixed race identity, along with deep red curly hair, styled into a crown braid most of the time, she rarely let's it loose, but when she does it's a big afro of red hair, dark brown almond shaped eyes that tilt slightly downward, a flat big nose with a curved bridge, and full tan lips. Her body is absolutely average, not exactly big but not small either, just average, in height and in weight (Height is 5'6).
Personality: Prefers to stay away from people, even… no ESPECIALLY her family, but is EXTREMELY savvy in deception and negotiation. She's not dangerous unless she needs to be, earning herself the nickname of Poppy from her family, which is a sedative but toxic in extreme doses (why they know this?… none of your concern). She likes having friends, but she never really TRULY trusts anybody. She likes playing board games and she hates hard labor, not because she's lazy, but because it's almost always racially motivated, even though she is a free person of color.
Usual Clothing: She usually wore big white skirts along with different blouses, sometimes the occasional chemise blouse. Her favorite blouse top is a blue and yellow striped blouse that her real father saved for her 18th birthday, it has lovely magnolia designs and it smells like the reeds of a swamp, which sounds gross but is quite nice. She also likes to wear wide-brimmed hats or fans that hide her face, though that rarely stops people from judging her (Being a mixed woman in the antebellum south wasn't great)
Backstory: Her mother was forced to marry a man she didn't love so she began sleeping around. Her step-father didn't notice that a lot of his children did not resemble him in the slightest though, until her mother slept with a black man, which resulted in Opale's birth and the subsequent realization. This then led to her step-father's extreme disdain for her (which was also fueled by rampant racism) but the Catoire family couldn't disown her, she was still their blood (on her mother's side) so they decided to make Opale one of their strongest assets. This ended up being kind of a failure of a plan because she ended up hating her family and being only mildly more powerful than most others, so they decided she should live in a home with the other failures of the family. Among these were her Great-Aunt Sanglante and her cousin Arlo.
Other: Nickname: Poppy

@Nicolo_Needs_A_Nap

Name: Emilio LeTour
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Family: LeTour Family, the Necromancers
Appearance: Emilio has skin colored the same shade as the espresso he loves to drink, peppered by freckles. His eyes are an almost melting gold that screams both mischief and invites you to see what that mischief entails for you. He stands at about 5'10 and is a thin thing, the only extra weight he has on him is muscle. Much to his Grandmere's dislike, his body almost never shows how much of her food he eats. His hair is a mess, but somehow fashionable tousled. It's black and will occasionally be slicked back out of his face. His ears have two studs in them, golden, he has a color scheme to maintain and on his hands, he has one steel skull ring and a gold one. They're on the same place of each hand. He has a multitude of tattoos, but mostly are on his back.
Personality: Emilio is the fire of the family, not the hearth, no, he's the fire. He's the one that vanishes in the middle of the night only to return covered with dirt and with a skull in his bag. He's the one who talks to the dead like they're his friends, and to him, they were. He had other friends, he was well liked, but only those who have died can freely speak to the one that whispers into their graves.
Usual Clothing: Anything that doesn't show dirt. He dresses in mostly browns and blacks, prefering tighter clothes so that they don't get caught on things. He always has on sturdy shoes, good for walking, running, and occasionally stepping into the middle of a river and talking to those who were drowning there.
Backstory: Emilio is more of a wild soul, chosing to take his studies outside. If you were to find him reading, you'd find him reading out to the bones in the backyard and debating with the spirits from the bayou.
Other: Whenever he summons a spirit or bones for a job, he always brings food as a payment.
