Oh I’ve just seen I had a shifter as well?? Would I be able to do both again?
Oh I’ve just seen I had a shifter as well?? Would I be able to do both again?
Name: Arlo Catoire
Age: 22
Gender: Non-binary (he/him)
Sexuality: he doesn't really care
Family: Reapers/Catoires
Appearance: Slim and lean body, basically no curves at all, he has a soft chin and not too many "masculine" noticeable features. Decently tall, 5'10 and a half. Tan reddish skin, though sometimes he wears makeup and the powder makes him paler. loose and short curly auburn hair and big eyes with light brown irises, with darker brown rims. His nose is small and straight and his lips are thin but very pink (red if her wears lipstick). He looks like a stereotypical gay man during these times, which is why he's expatriated to live in the swamp house with his aunt and cousin.
Personality: Very flamboyant and a little ditzy, very flirtatious and VERY deceptive. He's got the hands of a pickpocket, and he's not afraid to feel around for your wallet, and he's great at negotiating. For the right man though, he sometimes let's himself trip up without noticing. He's also very prone to alcoholism, though he doesn't get drunk often, he could drink gin all night and wake up fine the next morning (in someone else's bed probably). He's very down to earth with younger people though, and very understanding of people's problems (he's very sympathetic, been there before). He treats most teens and kids like his younger siblings, and he's really lovable when you get to know him (which is why he's very attractive to most people).
Usual Clothing: Whatever they want. Literally. Sometimes it's a dress coat and a skirt, other times it's a pleated shirt with harem pants. Sometimes a flapper dress and a top hat, and other times it's a full suit with a brimmed feathery hat. Their clothes is as incongruous as their gender identity.
Backstory: He's been pretty outwardly gay since he was a little kid, so he was sent to live with his great-aunt Sanglante in the swamp house when he turned 12, where she basically raised him. Sanglante, who was a feminist and abolitionist since God knows when, raised him to be a raging activist and taught him to fight for himself and for others just as much. Sanglante is a very kind old woman, probably in her late 80's or 90's who fought for women's rights so avidly and outwardly that her family expatriated her by the age of 30, and she taught all of her values to young Arlo, indoctrinating him in her ways, and he learned very quickly that fighting for other's was the best way to live and the most honorable.

Are 3 characters allowed or only 2?
Oh I’ve just seen I had a shifter as well?? Would I be able to do both again?
Yes! Go for it
Are 3 characters allowed or only 2?
If you'll be able to keep track of all three, then yes!
Are 3 characters allowed or only 2?
If you'll be able to keep track of all three, then yes!
Mmmm, knowing myself probably not lol, I'll stick to 2
Name: Serafine Lila Ardoine
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Family: Ardoine; Seers
Appearance: Serafine has a slightly darker skin compared to her younger siblings, though this is merely a tan of sorts, with slight splotches of light vitiligo across her shoulders, collarbones and thighs. She stands around 5'7, with a slender, curvaceous build. Like her younger brother, her hair falls in messy curls in an ashy, white colour, though there are hints of brown running through the ends. Both of her eyes are of the milky tone, signifying that she has now completely lost her physical sight. Running down her arms in petite, white cursive, is a series of excerpts from the Seer scriptures, while a string of moon phases in white run down her spine.
Personality: Serafine, like Daus, is something of a dreamer. She’s quiet by nature, but she’s a determined soul who will do anything for what she believes is right. She’s charming, friendly, and has no difficulty finding the balance in an argument. She is unusually wise for her age, many make jokes about her being a grandmother because of how wise she is, but she doesn’t mind. There are often times when she thinks too deep into something and has been known to inadvertently scare people with her thoughts, but from the age of 16 she learned to keep her thoughts to herself unless it was deemed important.
Usual Clothing: She loves wearing bright colours. Her wardrobe consists of flowing yellow dresses, purple sashes, and vibrant orange skirts. Usually she is seen wearing a cream ankle length skirt that has a slit running up to her thigh on one side, and she wears this with a soft yellow, short sleeved button up shirt (tucked into the skirt). She usually has a silky orange bandana tied into her hair (sort of like Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame), and she always has a plethora of gold bands on her wrists, and a couple of rings on each finger. Around her neck is where she always keeps at least two crystal necklaces, which she changes around depending on what her instincts are telling her that day.
Backstory: Serafine is one of the oldest of her parent’s children, so for a long time she was expected to set an example to the younger ones with the help of her older brother. When he was murdered, she was given the role of looking after the younger ones herself, but by this age she had started to lose her physical sight. She has left the family estate many times to visit people who were looking for guidance, so she knows a fair few people around the town, however this doesn’t stop her from being somewhat cautious around the other families——especially the Necromancers. She will never show that she is even a little bit scared.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes— fruit, dancing, reading, performing rituals, the night sky, meeting people. Dislikes— people who disrespect her family name and what they stand for.
Other: She isn't that fond of her sister Delphi, but she tries to stay civil with her. Serafine is also very good at getting what she wants from men.
Name: Remi Mounier
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Gay, although he isn't out
Family: Mounier; Shifters
Appearance: Remi's skin has a slightly dark tan although his complexion looks near gold. He stands around 6'0, with a toned 'warrior' physique. His shoulder-length hair is a rich butterscotch colour and has that surfer look—he always keeps his hair down because he likes the feeling of the breeze flowing through it. His eyes are a startling blue, one of which has a dark brown pigment splitting it down the middle. Going across his shoulder-blades, he has tattoos of the Major Arcana that his family represent.
Personality: Remi is known for being cold and unfeeling towards everyone, including his family members. This doesn't mean he isn't loyal—in fact he would put his life on the line for his family. He is the type of person who will change the way he acts around someone depending on what he wants from them, however he never uses this trick on his family. While on the outside he portrays himself as an untrustworthy, unfeeling prick, he's bottling up emotions that he believes to be a weakness. He's always got his walls up, and in 15 years no one has been able to break through them.
Usual Clothing: Typically seen in tight black slacks with an open white button up shirt. When he leaves the estate, he will button up the shirt and wear a black trench coat over the top. He always wears a pair of braces to keep his trousers in place, and is often seen wearing a pair of round sunglasses that have a golden frame—he doesn't like showing his eyes in public. The only item of colour he will willingly wear himself is a light blue silky bandana given to him by a family friend, and he has this tied around his right wrist.
Backstory: Remi was always a rebel child growing up, he often got into a lot of fights with his siblings, and overall he was just angry at the world. As punishment his parents would keep him in a secluded room until they could be sure he was calm. During his moments of solitary confinement, he started training both his body and powers in order to become stronger and one day be the head of the family. As he grew older, the anger slowly resided, though it never completely disappeared, and he used to (and still does) vanish late in the night to unknown places.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes—being alone, coffee, music. Dislikes—someone disrespecting himself or his family, large gatherings, bright lights.
Other: He has a weakness for hugs and cats.
Name: Leo Mounier
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Family: Mounier (The Shifters)
Appearance: Leo has light skin and white-blonde hair, and least when he isn't shifted. His hair is short and wavy, with a little bit falling near his eyes. He stands at 5'11'', and has a slightly toned/muscly body. His eyes are jade green. He has hands with long and bony fingers - he's a pianist.
Personality: He's very cheery and outgoing, though knows very well how to manipulate and control. He can deal with loss - he'll find a way to succeed in the later game. He loves to meet new people, and those who don't like him simply fuel him. Simply put, he's nice but if he needs to play the bad guy he can do it well.
Usual Clothing: He typically wears a maroon tuxedo and black dress pants. He typically has a scarf on in every season but summer. He also wears a satchel, which can carry anything from a book to a spyglass to a knife.
Backstory: Playing the golden boy since childhood, he is renowned by his family, and everyone expects him to be the heir to the Mounier name. He has executed his family's will perfectly, and most people assume him to continue to do so. However, he is hiding in the shadows, accomplishing his own goals as well as his family's.
Other: He's not a bad person. Compare him to a fox - crafty. He's a pianist and a reader.
I have some backstory to add to Emilio, but it'll probably take a hot minute
Okay! So I think we have an average about 2 characters per family, and I think I'm still waiting on 2 more shifters…if I counted correctly. Once those are in, I think I might close the RP n then we can start.
I think that I want to start it similarly to the OG one, so the first event that everyone meets at will be the first night of the week-long festival Mardi Gras..just the older version of it. A lot of people can wear masks at this celebration too if you want to introduce that! Have your characters start with family/family estates and introduce themselves like normal, but just keep in mind that each family can be SUPER hostile with one another. They don't just SHOW their powers to the whole world either, most of their abilities are kept within the family and trained. Just meet each other, mingle, do whatever, I'm not strict!
( I was also thinking that maybe a family could host some sort of party after the main Mardi Gras celebration, and they could all meet there? Whatever family seems like they could host a large party at their estate the most..maybe the reapers or necromancers, but literally whoever)
I'm not too sure about the direction the plot may go, but my characters are Seers so I can kind of give some sort of direction. Maybe Daus receives a vision/dream of a family or spirit coming into town…kind of forcing the families to get together? I think we can take the plot slow, just introduce the characters and get to know each of them for as long as we can before throwing in small obstacles. Romance is totally cool, I know some people like to talk about their character's possibly being interested in another's before the RP starts too.
Okay, sorry for dumping that on everyone, but I just wanted to get some major ideas and questions out of the way!!
Do you think it would be good if I submitted a second Mounier? I can roleplay as both.
Everyone looks great! I can probably close this up now
Do you think it would be good if I submitted a second Mounier? I can roleplay as both.
Sure!
Oh, I have a small idea if you'd like to hear it, it might help with the plot aswell?
Yes, let me hear it
Name: Fio Mayfield LeTour
Age: 21 (the oldest of the LeTour triplets)
Gender: Male, he/him
Sexuality: Pan
Family: The LeTour family, the Necromancers
Appearance: Fio is about 5'9", with a slim form. He is actually rather androgynous looking, and isn't explicitly masculine or feminine. His skin is a golden, rather caramel-y color. His eyes are a tawny, reddish golden color, that almost seem to glow in the darkness or when they're caught by the light in the right way. He has tattoos arching around his back and torso, and snaking down his arms and around his wrists, and down his legs to twine around his ankles. Most are in black ink, some are flecked with white ink as well. He's got piercings in both ears, and a wide, easy smile when he feels like showing it. His hair is dark brown, and a little bit long, though not very much so.
Personality: Easygoing, but protective of his family. Loyal. Pretty quiet and contemplative, and thoughtful. Very academic. Has a cool head, and a good grasp on the laws that govern the LeTour family. These laws are in place both to protect the LeTours, and to protect the spirits they interact with, and to protect the normal humans that live their lives oblivious to the Families. He is, however, willing to bend or break these rules if he thinks it would be unfair or harmful to follow them through. As the oldest child of the current Head of the family, he will, barring disaster, be the next Head of the family, which he views as a good thing, since he believes (mostly correctly) that neither of his siblings would do well as the Head.
Usual Clothing: Likes blue and gold and silver. Usually wears a white button-up with a vest or jacket over top, along with a pair of slacks. Wears jewelry, too, such as necklaces and rings and the like.
Backstory: Fio is the eldest of the three LeTour triplets, followed by Emilio and Lou. For most of his life, his younger siblings have dragged him around and asked him to take them to things, which he does, good-natured and easygoing. They consistently wake him up at night to come talk to spirits with them, which means he is constantly sleep-deprived. When he was 18, he got into a relationship with a man a few years older than him, and the relationship turned abusive pretty fast. He never told his siblings or parents what was happening, and it took him two years to be able to get out of the relationship. He suffers from PTSD from it now, and still has not told anyone why he was so distant during those two years. His siblings begrudge the distance, since it meant he wasn't home as much to have fun with them. They do hold it against him a little bit, but it doesn't often come up. As the future Head of the family, he has to spend a lot more time training and learning the rules, as well, and tends to get "privileges'" a bit sooner than his siblings, simply because he needs to learn them and know them sooner.
Other: Fio has a disorder that can incapacitate him; typically he just kind of freezes, and can't move or speak. This usually lasts for up to 30 minutes, with him slowly regaining movement in the last five or so minutes. However, it occasionally strikes as something closer to a seizure, which, afterward, leaves him weak and shaky for the rest of the day.
I think maybe the Necromancers would be most likely to host a party, since they're the older and more prestigious of the families?
Yes, let me hear it
Alright so I'm doing a bit of addition to my characters backstory, but a main thing is that his body is basically an open channel for minor possession of spirits and lets say this prophecy is a bloodline thing or a repeated prophecy/curse, someone from the past who was involved with the original could possess Emilio's mind and provide some good good lore, especially since the Necromancers deal with the past where the Seer's deal with the future
Omg I remember Fio, such a good character. Daus is going to go crazy over the LeTour triplets.
And yes, for the Necromancers, that seems about right that they could host the party. So maybe after just initial action at the festival, and the families gauging one another, they could truly meet there.

Great! I like that. And you are probably a lot more creative than me when it comes to plot, so feel free to slip that in after some characters get to know one another?
Name: James Mounier
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Demiromantic bisexual (though he's slightly gay-leaning)
Family: Mounier (The Shifters)
Appearance: James has light, slightly tan skin and black hair. His hair is short and wavy, but a lot falls onto his right eye. He stands at 5'9'', and has a skinny body. His eyes are jade green.
Personality: He's very introvertive and quiet, though smart and resourceful. Instead of meeting new people, he likes to further develop existing relationships.
Usual Clothing: He typically wears a black tuxedo and black dress pants. You can see him almost always with a book and a spyglass.
Backstory: The second of the two Mounier children, he has always been dutifully by Leo's side. He knows he isn't the heir, but he's not jealous - he knows he can rule by Leo's side. Second is good enough. He loves his brother, and they are on good terms. James typically shapeshifts just as much as Leo, but more for personal gain.
Other: He's a violinist, and often plays duets with Leo.
Omg I remember Fio, such a good character. Daus is going to go crazy over the LeTour triplets.
:D thank you!

Great!
Name: Emilio LeTour
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Family: LeTour Family, the Necromancers
Appearance: Emilio has skin colored the same shade as the espresso he loves to drink, peppered by freckles. His eyes are an almost melting gold that screams both mischief and invites you to see what that mischief entails for you. He stands at about 5'10 and is a thin thing, the only extra weight he has on him is muscle. Much to his Grandmere's dislike, his body almost never shows how much of her food he eats. His hair is a mess, but somehow fashionable tousled. It's black and will occasionally be slicked back out of his face. His ears have two studs in them, golden, he has a color scheme to maintain and on his hands, he has one steel skull ring and a gold one. They're on the same place of each hand. He has a multitude of tattoos, but mostly are on his back.
Personality: Emilio is the fire of the family, not the hearth, no, he's the fire. He's the one that vanishes in the middle of the night only to return covered with dirt and with a skull in his bag. He's the one who talks to the dead like they're his friends, and to him, they were. He had other friends, he was well liked, but only those who have died can freely speak to the one that whispers into their graves.
Usual Clothing: Anything that doesn't show dirt. He dresses in mostly browns and blacks, prefering tighter clothes so that they don't get caught on things. He always has on sturdy shoes, good for walking, running, and occasionally stepping into the middle of a river and talking to those who were drowning there.
Backstory: Emilio is more of a wild soul, chosing to take his studies outside. If you were to find him reading, you'd find him reading out to the bones in the backyard and debating with the spirits from the bayou.
Other: Whenever he summons a spirit or bones for a job, he always brings food as a payment.
Added backstory: There are certain people in the bloodline who are basically cursed to be an open channel for possession, now, this usually doesn't present itself as full blown possession, the mental wards each child in the family has are enough to counter that, but with these certain people, spirits can essentially give them a flashback of important events of their lives. These spirits haunt these people and are often malicious, sending memories every day to try and break down the human's soul enough that it can fully possess them.
Submitted my second Mounier, if you'd still want three (in James' story, I said there were two children, I can change that), I can make another or wait for someone else.
Great! Every character is amazing.
I'm not sure if I'm waiting on someone, I suck at keeping track…so if someone wants to help me count up everyone.
But if we're almost all set I could post the start and people can join in whenever. Don't worry about missing too much plot, we can take this RP as slow as we need to.
Ok, I know I'm kinda the new guy here so can I get like… an in depth explanation of the Reapers' abilities (I'm not really sure how they work)
I'm ready for the start, post whenever you'd like.
Oh wow, Remi is going to be that brother who both loves and hates James and Leo!
