The country of Lance was ruled by a single tyrant, Yuma. Yuma ruled with the power of his demon knights. The population was not allowed to grow over 20'000 people.

Demon Knights= The demon knights are soldiers blessed by the demons. Yuma had 12 squads of demon knights.

Yuma did not allow technology within Lance to advance, of course, the people revolted. Yuma was overthrown on the 30th year of his reign. He was overthrown by a man named Christopher, end publicly executed.

Christopher and his army established a democracy across the country and the population began growing rapidly. Technology advanced, the country began to expand. The new government decided to begin a new calendar, the year after the death of Yuma was titled: year 0.

The newly established country of Lance expanded until it reached the edge of the continent in every direction. The ocean, or what the people dubbed: the demon's land is what ended the expansion.

Demon's land= The ocean surrounding Lance is filled with monsters the size of mountains. Several voyages were attempted out into the ocean, no one ever returned. Some people believe that on the other side of Demon's land is heaven.

Anyone is capable of performing magic if taught how to activate the spell.
Spells can require anything from performing certain motions to speaking a certain incantation.
Magic has slowly died out as technology grew. The most common users of it are the knights.

The country of Lance has developed vehicles, television, and even computers.
