A world with a secondary sentient species to humans known as Monsters

The history of Earth played out majorly differently, as humans began developing as a species after monsters had already been around for a long time. For thousands of years humans and monsters coexisted, creating complex societies and living mutually beneficial life. This persisted until war broke out among them, sparked by racial tensions between certain members of both species. Once the war was over, a meeting was held among the leaders of the various societies, wherein an agreement was made to separate the two species. All was well for a while, until the memory of monsters faded from the human consciousness, leading them to begin to colonize and encroach on monster territory. Humanity's numbers greatly outranked those of monsters, and the monsters were forced to take refuge underground, where they remain to this day.

The magic in this world is highly developed. Many monster-based societies incorporate them heavily into their lifestyles. Humans are born without magic, and as such are mostly unaware of its existence.

They are the same as in the real world.

With the assistance of magic, technology for monsters is highly advanced.
