Malachi and Eden see each oher for the first time.

-Malachi and Eden meet during their first freshman orientation: Malachi and Eden sit near each other in the auditorium that the orientation takes place in. Malachi is immediately drawn to Eden, and the two suddenly share eye contact with one another. Both quickly look away, but Malachi continues to glance in his direction throughout the duration of the meeting.
-eventually, the students are split into groups for the campus and dorm tours. Malachi and Eden are put into the same group.

*That morning Malachi finds himself slightly hungover. Yves and Rohit are asleep on Malachi's bedroom floor. suddenly realizing the time, Malachi quickly dresses himself and rushes out the door. he manages to catch the train and travels into the city. eventually, he arrives the university that he was accepted to months prior. *Malachi enters the auditorium and instantly notices Eden because of his long, light blonde hair. he decides to sit two rows behind Eden. as he sits down and is completely dazed, Eden suddenly turns around in his seat. the two make direct eye contact before Eden quickly turns back around.
*the head of the assembly begins to speak about the university, their mission as a university, their values, etc. soon, he starts to speak directly to students in the crowd. Malachi is experiencing after glow as he is coming down from an acid trip he had the night before with his friends. he is completely in his own world, until he is abruptly brought back to reality by the sound of Eden's voice. the head of the assembly asked for any abroad students are present. Eden, along with a couple others, raises his hand, and is coincidentally called upon.
Eden gives out his home country and academic major. Malachi's eyes are glued to Eden, who sits diagonally from him in another row. Eden's voice is soft and slightly shaky.
*as the assembly ends, the head of the assembly splits the audience into groups for the campus and dorm tours. Malachi and Eden are put into the same group and exit the auditorium.
*Eden is visibly flustered by the sudden eye contact: his body becomes rigid and his heart rate quickens. he wants to look at Malachi again, but continues to look down and forward out of fear of being caught. Eden is stricken by Malachi's bright ginger curls and many freckles; he is shaken by his immediate attraction towards him.

Malachi and Eden talk to each other for the first time.

-the weather is bright and sunny. All the tour groups meet outside of the auditorium. Malachi is one of the first out of the auditorium, quickly lighting a cigarette as he walks out the door. Eden exits the auditorium soon after and passes by Malachi. Malachi notices Eden's vintage leather messenger bag and decides to pay Eden a compliment. Eden is completely caught off guard and stutters as he thanks Malachi. the two end up striking up a conversation about his bag, Moldova, and vintage fashion as they walk behind everyone else in their group.
-at the end of the walking tour, Malachi points out a coffee shop across the street from them, and asks Eden if he would like to get a table and chat. due to his anxiety, Eden hesitates, but ends up accepting his proposal.

*both Malachi and Eden are nervous and awkward when talking to each other, the usual for Eden, but not for Malachi.
*Eden gives short, quick answers with the intention of ending the conversation so he can finish the walking tour then lock himself in his apartment for the rest of the day. however, when Malachi asks if he would to continue their conversation, Eden is unable to resist Malachi's charming personality and smile.

Malachi and Eden take their conversation to the coffee shop.

-the two enter the coffee shop and order some coffee and food. after receiving their items they choose a table and sit down.
-the conversation manages to shift from the project to their interests.
-after about an hour or two, Malachi and Eden exchange phone numbers before parting ways.

-it isn't until the two sit down at their table that Eden begins to loosen up slightly. his nerves are soothed by Malachi's voice and playful banter. Eden starts to open up about his interests, and the two discover that they share a common interest: poetry.

THE TRIP (DAY 1)

-Eden takes a train from the city to Malachi's hometown. He arrives at the train station where Malachi and his friends are waiting for him. the two run towards each other and collide into a massive hug. Malachi leads Eden back to his friends and introduces him to them. after the introductions, they all pile into Rohit's Volkswagen van and start the 3 hour drive to
