The Pendelton Healer's Academy was founded on the principals of combining both modern and traditional medicine by understanding how they are not as different as people think and one cannot exist without the other. Students learn how to use a combination of magic, herbalism, and modern medical techniques to heal a variety of injuries and illnesses.

When major outbreaks happen it's the school that sends people to deal with them, and students also study the history of diseases and medical care as well as the practical aspect to better prepare them for what will happen out in the real world.

No entry fee is required as the Earth Goddess provides for all the school's expenses, but students are screened before entry and then assigned classes based on their year and general strengths and interests later down the line. If the student does not have a place to stay within the city they are provided a dorm room, but are still expected to pay for food and other expenses while attending the school. Many choose to work in the nearby Greenwood, helping with the preparation and burial of bodies, or in other aspects related to the dead to help them understand mortality and how sometimes there is just nothing to be done for someone sick or injured save making their passing easier.

Upon graduation the school offers students certificates to show they have done so and are certified to practice medicine across the world. From there many choose to join existing practices, though some choose to go off and start their own. Either way, graduates are experienced and know what they're doing and are more often than not afforded a lot of respect because of it.
