Central Station
The capital city of the subway survivors after the C.A.T explosion.
A grandiose city which had its cavern excavated over the years of its existence. The city itself is massive compared to other stations in the subway, and relies on the imports of the other stations to stay feasible. The light it gains from a massive crystal hanging above the main councils camber.
all manner of languages on the continent are being spoken. There arn't one's different to the world we live in now because all of the humans (with the exclusion of the natives) were from earth. In that case the native language is also spoken, however only the cuss words.
500,000
there is no currency since its the barter system however the main material that is traded in the city are finished goods, the materials are mainly imported from stations 1-11. The central city is also responsible for training doctors and other such professions with its prestigious college's. (even though licenses mean little outside the main city.)
The preservation of humanity at any cost.
Unlike the outer cities the main cities actually has the militia to back up the laws. In this case the city's laws would include the requirements that
a. the tunnel alert systems are manned at all times
b. citizens in current employment in the city are unable to go outside due to the risk on administrative duties
c. Shops must give a loaf of bread to those that walk into their shop hungry.
d. the ground the city is on is unable to be used as farm soil, unless the said scrapper gets a permit and makes a separate cavern below the city's ground level.
e. Swielders, and other assorted craftsman are required to have permits in order to conduct business within the premises of any outpost or city.
f. practitioners of medicine are required to subject their equipment to proper scrubbing techniques, and must be certified by taking the government test.
g. all tunnels, excavations, and mapping must be made by registered skarmers.
h. during any expeditions skarmers must be accompanied by at least one licensed combat specialist, and one licensed stealth specialist
of course in the outer stations these laws are almost all ignored due to the impossibility in obtaining even 1 license
A majority of the sports in the cities are combat competitions in order to train the population in case a monster attack occurs. There is also a trading card game which categories all of the mutants discovered into classes that battle each other. There are also other scrap cards which when applied to the player card allows for increased damage or defense. each combat stage lasts ten seconds in that time the player card can be moved by player 1 and the monsters moved by player 2. If the monsters and players don't touch both keep their stats, this allows for the player card to be underpowered while keeping the game balanced. There is also soccer and football, however they are played at the same time and personal equipment is allowed to be used. There are also multiple videogames, many being spin offs of the ones brought by the rocket crew. Although mmorpgs are much more popular, and almost everyone plays on pc cause consoles have become obsolete: kind of like ataries.
a massive central station for the old subway that was used before the C.A.T explosion. It was primarily used as a transfer point but further excavation has made it a suitable human base.
The main crop it produces is potatoes as they are hearty and able to be produced in copious amounts. Other than this there is little that is grown considering this is the main manufacturing location
The Central Station is located in the top right of the continent under the city jungle.
The climate is kept at a cool 70 degrees with climate changing technology left over from before the C.A.T explosion.
Central station was founded when the majority of commuters we're trapped in the subway. The local janitor there had to take over responsibility as the last conductor had died. Under his admittedly shaky leadership the station was able to discover farming and after several exploration runs surrounding survivors came and joined the station bolstering their resources and numbers. Slowly the central station grew until the King perished. The council that replaced him were much more aggressive in their integration of the outer stations. Rather than ensure the stability of the capital they took a more chaotic and less restricted approach to generate more profit
This was the year 0 A.E when it first started to form, and was officially founded in 5 A.E.
The Central Station has been embroiled in several major wars over the years. There were the beginning wars in which the station fought to be dominant in the subway. There were the wars of attrition for gaining the very outer reaches of the subway. The barrier campaign was the result of the central station taking its forces and, allegedly, clearing the area around the outer subways. This resulted in a foothold on the outside
