Magic users are much less common amonst the broken sands. The people of bekel used to rely on powerful crystals that resonated and stored magical energy, called phyrric crystals, Each crystal was tuned to its own branch of magic.

Now bekel magic weilders are typically born because there blood has been diluted with that of the Triumvirate. However, all bekelian citizens will carry a small phyrric shaard, that may store simple spells.
