Great Tree

A massive tree said to have grown from the spilled blood of a slain holy woman.

"Her leaves spill verdantly from ink-dark branches, and she shelters the village with her boughs. Is she happier now than she was?"

It goes up very high and then it's branches fan out widely, covering a great area in its shadow.

A holy woman's blood.

The bark is ink-black and the leaves are a deep green. Once every 100 years, the tree blooms again with iridescent petals falling to the ground.

Life/rebirth, home.

During a time of strife a local holy woman was killed by the invading force. The tree's seed was made and grown from her blood and she was reincarnated.

It took 100 years for the seed of blood to germinate and another 100 for first bloom. Since then, it has regularly bloomed every 100 years.
