Knight
Royal Knight, Queen's Man
-Must have completed knight training with a knight in good standing.
-Must be personally "sponsored" (recommended) by a noble in good standing
-Failing for either of those, 1+ year in combat, such as a war.
All knights, regardless of status, must demonstrate their skills in front of the king.
-Swordsmanship
-Marksmanship
-Hand-to-hand combat
-Equestrian
-Any other weapon of their choice
-Must be able to read
-Must be able to write
-Must know basic math
-Full time.
-Day shift or night shift (shifts are half a day)
-Rotating days off (only once a week, it's different every week)

-All knights are taught the layout of the castle. Within two weeks of their appointment, they need to know where each door, hall, room, and passageway goes, as well as all of the exits.
-Taught basic etiquette for parties and such.
-If you mess up in front of the queen or king, there's a good chance you'll never be able to hold your head up again.
-5 gold coins per week
Almost none. The king or queen must sign a letter acknowledging a knight's absence.
-The Knights of the city are one step down from the Knights of Regina. They are a standard city defense force.
-Every city typically has a small, elite unit of knights that guard its walls.
-Most knights just stand outside of rooms and in hallways. In order to be one of the king's, queen's, or children's knights, they have to curry favor with the royal family.
-Knight of the Royal Sword: Two guards whose only job is to guard the king. One is constant, the other usually only guards at special events. They are with the king until they or he dies. Hand-selected by the king.
-Knight of the Golden Sword: Two guards whose only job is to guard the queen. Same functions as royal sword, though the queen or king can pick them.
-Knight of the Silver Sword: Pairs of guards whose jobs are to guard the royal children. Same functions as those of the parents. Tradition dictates that they are the sons of the Royal or Golden Sword knights, if old enough.
-Knight of Affairs: Any seasoned knight who is responsible for guarding visitors during their stay.
-Knight Marshal: The knight who oversees all other knights.
Protection
0) KRS: King's guards, not under the jurisdiction of the KM, but not allowed to give him orders either.
0.5) KGS: Queen's guards, not under the jurisdiction of the KM, but the king's orders automatically override her personal wishes.
1) KM: Head of all knights.
2) KSS: Royal children's guards. KM decides punishments for them if applicable. King's or queen's orders automatically override personal wishes.
3) KA: Under jurisdiction of king when people are visiting, and KM when they aren't.
3) Knights of Halls: The knights that stand guard inside the castle. Under KM's jurisdiction.
4) Knights of Walls: The knights that stand guards outside the castle. Under KM's jurisdiction.
Started as an offshoot of the Knights of Adamantium, gradually grew into its own hand-picked force.
