while wearing the mask the wearer gains extremely high levels of strength, speed, and intelligence (even more so when it comes to combat and battle tactics). The more/ longer a person wears the mask the more the effects become permanent. If the wearer's mind isn't well, aren't heroic, or don't have good enough humility or honor the mask will take over their body and "cleanse" basically leaving them like lobotomized vegetables.
