Theocracy

They derive their power from their "Goddess"

Their "Goddess" lives in luxary and makes the biggest decisions whilst the priests handle the more minor issues

Besides most normal laws, they also include a number of laws that persecute anyone that dares to oppose the church.

Life

Criminals are executed if they do not submit to the church's will

There are no elections, the priests are chosen by their Goddess

The people have been brainwashed their whole lives in believing that their Goddess is real, and as such place the upmost faith upon her.

Isolationism

They go about their days normally, but on five days of every week they are required to go before a shrine and pray to their Goddess.
