Any who wish to speak to Yggdrasil directly must take a pilgrimage to the ash tree at the center of the world. A person may wish to speak to Yggdrasil for many reasons, such as educational or cultural purposes.

Yggdrasil does not interact with the world directly, but those that speak to them describe them as blunt and not particularly quick to trust.

When the world was young, a seed was planted. From that seed grew a luxurious ash tree, and that ash tree was known as Yggdrasil. As the world grew, so did Yggdrasil. It's radiance would stave away the darkness and the evil in the world.
