Azmar
God of the Stone
For many who live in underground spaces, be they dwarf or drow, those native to those areas or those who simply choose to make their home there, the stone all around them is life.
It is the platform on which they travel and make their homes. It is the walls of their dwellings, the tunnels, the caverns. It is the ceiling above them, protecting them from the world while also posing the danger of collapsing upon them at any time.
Most gods come about because people believe in them, and most in the Underdark believe at least a little bit in Azmar. A name whispered before travel to keep people safe, added to prayers and given thanks to. Yet few have seen this reclusive deity, so few that they are considered more of a superstition than an entity that can be spoken with like some of the others.
Yet when someone is trapped in a cave in, surrounded by their enemies, or otherwise finds themselves in trouble if they call upon Azmar in earnest.....they come back speaking of a large being that saved them, orc or perhaps half-orc in nature. Sticking around just long enough to ensure the individual is safe before disappearing into the shadows of the underground, saying nothing as they do so. This is enough for people to continue their belief, however small it might be, and in theory that is enough for Azmar to continue to exist.
