Magical Fatigue

Performing Spells that require the generation of Magical Energy from within the Soul -- for example, typical spells of Elemental Energy -- will strain the soul's ability to generate additional energy. If there is too much strain, the soul's generation and circulation of Life Force will be affected as well, and the body will stop getting the energy it needs to function normally.

The most common symptoms of magical fatigue are physical exhaustion and sluggish thoughts. Sometimes it also leads to minor physical ailments such as headaches, nausea, and shortness of breath. If the caster continues pushing themselves, they may fall unconscious. Persisting to that level can cause long-term damage to the body, opening the door to all sorts of related conditions and shortening one's lifespan considerably.

It is possible, with frequent training and practice, to extend the soul's ability to generate energy from the core being used, reducing the effects of magical fatigue caused by wielding that element. The strength of a mage is typically measured by how much energy they can unleash without exhausting themselves.
