Betty is motivated not only by self preservation, but the preservation of lives of others. She cares deeply about other people but knows when people are in the wrong and often has a good sense of who to back.
She is also motivated to fight the problem of the Wolves, partly because she wants the creatures to pay for what they did to her community.

She is often very emotional, and makes decisions with her heart and not her head. She trusts her gut a lot, which can lead to some not-so-fun situations. She is slightly impulsive and doesn't listen well. She argues with authority and doesn't like being told what to do, especially if she doesn't understand why she's been told what to do.

Betty was raised in small-town lower New York, with a population of, like, eight people. At the age of sixteen, the Wolves became a problem. She lost her brother, and everyone in her town died.

Graduated Homeschool Kindergarten - 12th grade finished. She is good at math and science, but struggled with English for a while. She became well-read in the subject, though, before she graduated.

Doesn't get involved in politics mainly because she wasn't educated about such things or exposed, so she never needed to be well-read when it came to politics. After she really gets out in the world, it's in a place where politics aren't of any concern.
