Accolon is a knight who has fought beside Arthur for several years. But Accolon is bold and rash, and many times he has taken advantage of the king's mercy, secretly insulting or fouling those he knew would not challenge his harshest words. He feels that he is the best swordsman and should be trusted to wield Excalibur in battle, but has been passed over for lesser men.
