She grew up originally with her aunt as he primary caretaker, not knowing her mother until 9 years old when her aunt suddenly died and she was placed back into the care of her abusive mother in a bad neighborhood. She fought and worked and saved enough money for college while she was still in highschool, refusing to allow herself to fall into any debt. Unfortunetly, law school denied her application, so she settled on being a social worker.
