Those who can't handle demanding/ stressful situations
Anyone who hurts Hecate
It's possible that he's dead
He's mostly aloof and keeps himself inside Hecate's shadows when summoned
He can be somewhat cruel and laughs at others failures. However, if they persevere and conquer the challenge, he will celebrate their success with excessive jubilation.
He's very judgmental of Cate's actions and decisions
That said he cares for her greatly and serves as a parental substitute for her later life.
Simply, to serve Hecate.
He is a genuine jerk that can be very critical and cruel to others
He can really get on Cate's nerves when push comes to shove and can earn a de-summon if he's being too big of an a hole
When he is de-summoned (Hecate severs their contract) he returns to the Realm of the Dead and can no longer assist Cate in combat.
He has a passive ability that strikes immense misery into those that surround him, this can be "turned off"
He can tell when someone is feeling sad, not as an ability. He uses this to either torment his victims, or sooth them. It depends on what Cate says.

He's a HUGE prick, but Cate and her friends are his number one priority and protects them as best as he can. He's critical of Hecate because he doesn't want her to make the same decisions she made in the past. He cares about her like she were his family, but because of his status as a Spirit of Misery, he's a cynical being with a soft spot for a few select people.
As the Spirit of Misery, he ignites severe sorrow in those he deems deserving of that pain. He is, of course, well versed in this skill as he embodies that pain completely. He is also a shapeshifter, claiming any animalistic form that Hecate wants him to take, or he needs to take. Usually, he appears as a black hound with "eyes within eyes." He has spirals of shadows wisping around his head, making him discernable from other animals. He has sharp claws that he can enchant with curses, making him probably one of THE most dangerous creatures in the world, but Hecate forbids him from using it. He can still effortlessly tear people open at her word and rarely shows a shred of misery to those with a weak mental constitution.
"Triple Hound of Hades!!!": An attack created by Hecate. Kiev splits himself into three clones and rushes the foes. He assaults them with multiple attacks and overwhelms them until they give up.
"Black Dogs of the Wrathful Czar!!": An attack created by Hecate. Kiev creates a field of darkness surrounding the enemy and they are sucked into the field. He holds the target within his darkness for mere moments before revealing them, completely and utterly petrified and broken by the horrors of their own fears.
"Shadows! Be My Ally!": Kiev assumes a position just beneath the shadow of Hecate. Hecate then steps on his head and rides him at high speeds for a flurry of attacks or fast transportation.
"Go forth and Hunt": Kiev is ordered to hunt his prey. What happens to them varies.
Oddly enough, Hecate is one of his biggest weaknesses as a Spirit manifesting in the living realm. This is because she had imparted several restrictions on his abilities to refrain him from causing more damage than she can handle. As a familiar, his magical energy derives from Hecate's, making them share from the same source. Usually familiars are normal (or otherwise) animals that have enough intelligence and magic to make a contract with a Necrotzen and do not require a lot of magical energy to sustain them. But Kiev is a Spirit with an insane magic reservoir of his own, making it basically impossible to contract him as a familiar. However, because of Hecate's [plot relevance], she can sustain him effortlessly at the cost of his full power.
Like all Spirits, he naturally know his abilities and how to use them at full capacity.
As the bonafide Spirit of Misery himself, Kiev enjoyed a considerable amount of power at his desposal in the Realm of the Dead. He, along with his fellow Spirits, governed the dead as their fading souls drifted to stardust. He is a troublemaker to some, an enemy to most, and a friend to few.
One day he felt the apparent pull of a shoddily put together summon. Some amatuer witch decided to try their hand at summoning a whole Spirit. He accepted the summon quickly, wanting to taste the despair of how agonizing it is to contain such a spectral beast as himself. Not a single mage had ever successfully sustain his horrifically broad requirements to keep him in one form and revels in their suffering freely.
He wasn't expecting anything special. Maybe some overly arrogant geezer. Maybe some pretentious youth. Maybe even a panicking novice trying to unsummon at the last second. What he did not expect, however was a small, shivering girl covered in mud and filth with big, shimmering eyes colored a faded amythest. The girl did not hesitate or shriek at the sight of his empty eyes, mangled hair, or blackened teeth. She spoke the first word between herself and the Spirit; a command.
"Keep me warm while I sleep."
Kiev, the bonafide Spirit of Misery himself, did as he was told by his new master. Ready to accept any order she spoke without hesitation.
That art of his true form is very old so i need to revamp that. He has no ass legs.
Lemme just say, Hecate deadass rides Kiev like a skateboard when using "Shadows! Be My Ally!"
Also, if you can't tell, Hecate named ALL his "magic" those strange names.
Despite his inherent cruelty, he cherishes Hecate above all else and treats her like an older brother would treat his younger sister.
