Kalsang, Kal, Son of Adair, Lord of Clan Dralen, The Gray Knight, Paladin of Dralen

Bruiser with a Soft Center

Dark Brown. Kalsang eyes appear almost black but when he stepped into the sunlight they appear lighter.

None usually, maybe a little scruffy now and then but he shaves before it can become scratchy.

Semi unkept but not long. He is a wild child but he needs to keep up appearances in case he is needed in a public setting such as Tournaments, Court meetings, etc.

6'0. This is considered somewhat short for his people

Marks: a few scars littering his body in various places, these were gained in battle mostly. He also has ceremonial scars identifying him as a Lord.

Other Identifying Features: Paladin neck tattoos, Clan tattoos on his hands, and his striking face. He is one of those people where they are very striking.

Muscular. He isn't as tall as ___ but he is broader and stronger at their young age.

Tan. His home is in the north where there isn't much natural shelter and lots of snow so the reflections of light mean him and his people tan.

Enhanced Human

Enhanced Humans are people who have gone through surgical, mental, or genetic modifications. People who are of the lower class know about these modifications but do not understand that they are surgical procedures, not divine interaction.

The people who go through the modifications can change their bodies in almost any way they want.

In general, people from Terra today have a range of skin types. It is highly common for the people of Terra to have skin ranging from tans, to pales, to very dark.

Blond hair used to be common during their period of evolutional change but once it started to warm up again blond hair practically disappeared along with red hair. The most common hair colors are now brown, rust, and black. Most eye colors, however, how stuck around. Some new colors have emerged as well such as eyes that are split (heterochromia in which an eye is half one color and half another) and a color that is like hazel but with red undertones.

Kalsang used to think that anyone living in the capital, Oraphia, was soft and spineless. That they were raised to be pampered rulers. This changes when he meets ____, whom he battles in the Academy, and realizes that not all the capital citizens were as soft as he thought.

Separation Anxiety: Kalsang's separation anxiety is caused by a ritual he had to go through as a child. All Clans have special rites of passage and in his Clan, their passage is literally called Separating.

Imposter Syndrome: Kalsang feels that he is not enough despite everything he has achieved for himself and his people. He compares himself a lot to others such as his partner ____ but he is trying his best.

At the moment his biggest motivator is glory. He wants to make a name for himself and his people because of their checkered past.

Glory being his motivator can sometimes overshadow his other motivators such as love. (Basic, I know, lol.)

With this comes much dismay from his partner Arcus Heres Atreus ap Pike (____). He doesn't want Kal to get hurt in his conquest.

Kalsang is very impulsive, he grows out of it with age, but at his current age of 18, he is very reckless. This is a trait his mentors often try to beat out of him.

Distrustful. Kal does not trust many people in his life and that can make it hard for others to trust him. He tries but it is hard for him to open up.

Kalsang means well but he can oftentimes be too sneaky for his own good. Whether that is because he sees something he shouldn't or is sneaky away to avoid people, it is still a flawed trait.

Sarcastic. There is good sarcasm and bad sarcasm. Kalsang is both. He makes a lot of snarky comments.

Scouting, combat, and cooking.

As a warrior and Lord, Kalsang is very good at tactical arts like scouting missions and combat. He didn't become a Paladin by sitting in meetings.

Cooking. Kal actually enjoys cooking when he has the chance because he likes feeling productive. This is good because Achilles is a terrible cook.

Baking, and taking walks. He enjoys the simplicity of both activities.

Letting his family and his Clan down. Kal doesn't want to fall short of the goals he has set for himself or the goals of his people. He is afraid of failure.

He is also afraid of losing __. He overthinks their relationship a lot because they used to be "rivals". He also doesn't want __ to leave him because of his anxiety or anger issues.

Roasted Deer meat and honey tea. He tries not to drink alcohol that often unlike most of his people plus honey tea helps him stay relaxed and less anxious too.

Basan.

The Separation.

The Separation takes place when a Basan (Clan Dralen) child turns 6 years old they are taken out of their homes and left in the catacombs under the mountain range of their home territory. They are sent into the maze of the mountains while blindfolded, they are then allowed to take them off once their parents have left them in the catacombs. The children have to make it out of the catacombs to be able to join the Clan as full members. They have 12 days to emerge from the tunnels. Any who do not make it out are left to die in the catacombs. If they happen to make it out later they can either choose to join the clan as lower-class citizens or leave the Clan.

This rite of passage ceremony is what caused Kal's separation anxiety and mistrust of others. He and his parents had a broken relationship after he returned, he blamed them for his ordeal in the tunnels. Kal was trapped in the catacombs for 11 days and underwent terrible things inside.

Kalsang met ____ at the Academy in Oraphia. They had a one-sided rivalry for a while because Kalsang did not like _. Kalsang trained twice as hard to try to show up _. After the war with Marw broke out the two put aside the rivalry and fought together to free their homeland. They started to have feelings for each other halfway through the war campaign. Kalsang was the first person ____ was with which opened the younger boy's eyes to what his sexuality might be. The pair stayed together in secret, not wanting to reveal their relationship during that uncertain time.

Kalsang means Good Fortune in Tibetan
