Chelsea was born in Amera three years after her older brother Petra, and she lived a happy childhood alongside her brother and parents. However, when Chelsea was 18, Duskwing Syndicates raided her hometown, killing her parents and kidnapping Chelsea despite Petra's best attempts to rescue her. She was subsequently taken to Stormhold, where her captors announced that she would be used as a test subject.

For the next fifteen years, she was subjected to experiments day after day, many of them being painful and traumatic. However, she silently held out hope that she would be able to escape and see her brother once again – one of the few things that kept her sane during her trials.
