Short and choppy, but usually slicked back from their forehead with gel or water.

Tattoos of a broken heart under their right eye and an open safety pin (signifying opposition to a corrupt government) on their inner left wrist.
Self-harm scars on their arms.
Punk as punk can get. Leather jackets, ripped black jeans, combat boots or Doc Martens with platform soles, arrowhead pendants or layered thick chain necklaces. Bold, thick eyeliner and shirts with punk/grunge symbols/designs.
Chaotic Neutral / Jess helps who they think needs help, with no regard for good or evil intentions. They're also independent, acting only on their own desires, and very spontaneous.
Jess has a very forceful personality. They hate being seen as vulnerable or emotional and don't like to smile or show happiness in front of others. They roll their eyes a lot and tend to be very skeptical of everything. They also get angry easily, yelling when they do. They act much like they don't care about anything, a very "gives no fucks" person. They're secretly really protective of their friends but wouldn't go to any extent to demonstrate this. Whenever someone mentions it, they scoff and act disgusted. Jess is extremely chaotic, seeming to live solely on a diet of energy drinks, candy, and cigarettes, and they like to test the limits of societal barriers and rules. Around their few friends, they have a very boisterous personality, and toss around playful insults and jokes.
Jess' face is often one of faint disgust or boredom. They don't participate a lot in coversations and often sit slouched over, tapping their fingers.
When they're nervous, they tap drumbeats with their hands on their legs or with their feet to help calm themselves down. It helps them feel like they're getting their emotions back into a normal rhythm.
Drumming, punk rock, concerts, leather jackets, yelling
Romance, being seen as vulnerable, girly things
The opposite of gullible. They fall for nothing and second-guess everything they're told. They follow the principle "believe half of what you see and none of what you hear", giving them an advantage when people are trying to lie to them.
In situations with lots of pressure or high expectations, it can be hard for them to keep their cool. They're very sensitive to pressure, even though they may not show it.
To be recognized for something. They don't want to be forgotten after they die.
Jess tries not to show it, but they are internally very insecure; as a result from bottling up their real emotions for so long, they're susceptible to mental breakdowns in certain situations or if certain things are mentioned.
Being forgotten, heights
Jess acts disgusted by people who are sensitive or emotional because, in their mind, they need to "suck it up".
Whenever Jess goes to a party, they drink a lot to escape their emotions.
They smoke cigarettes frequently, often stealing out of class to hide out in a bathroom and smoke.
Drumming, playing electric guitar, memorizing things
Playing music, collecting CD's, graffiti, exploring the city
Intermittent Explosive Disorder; they are prone to outbursts of anger that are grossly disproportionate to the situation. They take medication to help this.
Jess' voice is very scratchy and gravelly, because they yell and shout a lot. They speak very gruffly and don't laugh very much in front of others.

You may have noticed that Jess’ best friend is Ben; the two of them don’t know either why they’re so close, but they complement each other well, and get along quite unlike either of them does with anyone else.
Jess keeps a tight circle of actual friends that they like and regularly interact with; outside of these few people, they are generally more hostile towards anyone.
