Nobody knows what motivates Mai, and everybody is starting to suspect she doesn't know either.

She is incredibly talented at doing seemingly random things at random times, such as the time Mai and Mia were at a cafe, and while Mia wasn't looking she climbed up onto the table they were sitting at. Mia wanted to call her out but didn't want to pull in attention from the other people in the cafe. In the end, nobody even noticed Mai except Mia.

Constantly doing odd 'jokes' around Mia to try and get Mia to call her out. Things like sitting on top of open doors while reading, asking Mia to deliver a letter to herself, pulling a stuffed animal out of her bag and then unzipping the back of the stuffed animal to reveal money, etc.
