Adeline's life was relatively unremarkable until she reached adulthood and joined up with the Moonlight Guard . People always thought she was odd because tigertaurs are so rarely seen in the world, but that was a judgement she'd grown up with and didn't let what other people thought of her hold her back. In fact her size gave her an advantage, and she quickly learned how to let others ride her into combat as a battle mount while also being able to fight herself.

From there Adeline quickly rose in the ranks until she reached a high status and took on a small company of her own. They were wildly successful, and Adeline grew confident in the skills of herself and those under her. She was a respected commander as well, well able to handle any jobs they took. Then, one day, she took a job that those above her warned against. Adeline was told repeatedly in the days leading up to heading out for the job that she would get herself and her unit killed, but her unit had faith in her and ignored the message as long as she remained confident they could handle things.

The warnings were right; when they arrived for the job it was already a massacre, and despite being well trained veteran fighters they stood no chance against the enemy. Everyone died and, in honesty, Adeline should have. She stared at the sky as she slowly faded into death surrounded by her dead friends, and then a miracle happened. Something with immense power reached out to her and offered her a deal; she could live if she served the entity. Scared to die despite everything Adeline agreed, and her life was restored. With it came magical powers she was unsure of and unused to, and an adjustment period for her psyche.

After that Adeline did try to go back to the company, but they would not take her. She had plenty of warning about what would happen and many good members had died on that field thanks to her incompetent leadership and putting her pride and confidence ahead of common sense. Not sure what else to do with herself and still waiting to see what the mysterious entity would want of her in exchange for her powers Adeline took her things and left to explore the world and, hopefully, not regret the pact she has made.
