Max grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. Her father left when she was four, leaving her with her mother, who was an addict. Max got the first job as a lab assistant at age 18. Max went to university and got a degree.
She came out as gay at age 24. Her relationship with her mother took a dive and never fully recovered. Max became withdrawn and started to tinker with robots and mix things together. She had a relationship with a politician, Milly Valerie Smith but broke up and left her with two kids.
