He has strange dreams. The first one started with him sitting in a throne-like chair with a creepy deep sea fish talking to him with a deep voice and teeth. He says to him once he wakes up and after he looks around to see a dark room with the only source of light coming from a surrounding aquarium illuminating, "You've been here for a while, better wake up before you forget how." And grins very creepily. Percy then wakes up in a cold sweat.
The following ones are him seeing a future, most likely predicted by the fish, him seeing the happiness and joy he will feel from a future with a girl (that he doesn't know who yet) and their children.
The next one is the fish saying something different, seeing a snip bit of a future not far to come, and he sees a girl's platinum blonde hair flow in the wind while he's driving a convertible and the sun is setting, and you can only see a little bit of the city and she ends her question with, "forever?"
Once he sees Saoirse die right in front of his eyes, he sees constant flashbacks of his happiest memories that she created with him and sees that the dreams were a lie about his future kids and life. He then sees all of them disappear.
- the whole moral of the story it is better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all.
He sees Astoria walking away into a light, she turns around and smiles at him. He falls down on his knees and starts weeping. Saoirse walks over to him and puts her hand on his shoulder. She whispers, "Do you really wish we never meet?" He then looks up and kisses her and says "no."
