paranormal ability: necromancy
prone to staring off into the distance while lost in thought. when upset or excitable, she can activate her power by accident. will absently rub her fingers on her hair because it's short and fuzzy. night-owl. always stands tall. has a little game as a coping method where she imagines herself as who she would like to be/where she would like to be/how she wishes her life was; generally too curious for her own good. easily spooked, as sometimes a spirit will come out of nowhere and scare her.
wants to find her purpose in life (her "niche" so to speak), as she feels sort of useless just sitting at home, and having the power of necromancy makes her feel evil. hopes to find the reason that she and her sisters are different and have paranormal abilities. wants to rid herself of necromancy, if possible.
deeply suspicious of others. quick to shut others out. can become snappish when stressed. a bit restless. can jump to conclusions when angry. feels jealous of deeply religious people because she feels they have hope and trust in a God that will take care of them.
playing piano; star gazing; going on walks; sitting in the green house
introvert. outwardly apathetic/good at controlling her emotions. observant of others and her surroundings. knows her self-worth and doesn’t bend to others’ opinions. very protective of her sisters. while appearing very confident, has a poor sense of identity and feels a sort of disconnect with herself. inwardly quite a nervous person. desperate to have human connections but scared to get too close. can be quite sarcastic sometimes and likes to joke around when she's in a good mood.
January 13th 1865
born, raised, and currently living in the London countryside. her mother died when she was young under circumstances her father has never disclosed, which has contributed to her general distrust of people. her power became known during childhood when, after weeks of nightmares of a mysterious figure (who the reader later learns is Mr. Edward Watson), she accidentally raises a dead bat after waking from another nightmare - this proves to be a very traumatic event, which is why she believes she's evil or cursed. this trauma also contributes to the sense of disconnect she has with herself, as she dissociates sometimes. as she grew up, she started to feel very alone - she has only a few friends outside of her family, and she never got too close to them because of her paranoia about her ability, and as a result she becomes quite a lonely person and keeps to herself.
home tutoring. however, she likes reading and always loves learning new things. particularly enjoys music and astronomy
cat named Tawny
Family relationships: her relationship with her father is strained because he's constantly bringing people in to witness her and her sisters' paranormal abilities and that scares her - she thinks it's just a matter of time before people become terrified of them and lock them up or experiment on them. she loves her sisters dearly but she's inwardly a little jealous of their more harmless or even helpful abilities
periwinkle
cats. all cats.
pigeon in white sauce; deviled eggs; hot chocolate
has no job; her father is very protective due to her paranormal nature, so she and her sisters stay home very often. devotes herself to studying new things.
tries to stay out of politics as much as possible, as politics give her anxiety
raised Christian, but questions her beliefs because of her unexplainable paranormal ability; she feels God has abandoned her to the Devil
