Illya grew up in a family of four. It was his father Nikolai, his mother Sibylle, and his half brothers Bastian and Dimitri. Growing up, Illya was always being groomed by his father to become a ruthless Phantom and a successful businessman. Nikolai allowed Illya to study to be a physician on the condition that he would have to use his skills in the family business. Thus, Illya grew into the position of the King's Physician, a title awarded to him once he learned to use his skills as a doctor and a Phantom to terrorize people into compliance to Nikolai's gang, the Voiceless Court. At the point where the story begins, Illya will have gathered some loyal members of the court of his own, a dark prince set on proving himself to the king of the Alston underworld.
