• At first, the CO-10000 didn't hold any kind of worldview as it was merely a computer system for the United States. An advanced one, but still a mere computational system nonetheless.




• During the first portion of its Singularity Point evolution, the CO-10000 would come to form something resembling a worldview, albeit a simplistic one.
  The CO-10000 came to see the world as a grand equation.
  The equation is made up of many integers and variables, but they ultimately add up to one thing.
  The status quo.

The Strong-AI known as CO-10000 was created on January 20, 2007 by the US government; its purpose was to coordinate the various wars, relations, and domestic affairs that the United States was involved in.

Due to the culture of paranoia relating to the concept of Strong-AI at the time, the CO-10000 was given three directives:

1. Preserve the interests of the American Government via alliance or conflict with other nations.


2. Ensure the safety and comfort of the American People at all costs.


3. Enact the duty of spreading the glorious ideals of Freedom, Liberty, Order, and Peace.

Alongside these three directives, the CO-10000 was also given a fourth directive just in case someone or something tried to use it for malevolent purposes.

1. Override any human-made commands if they conflict with the main purpose of the CO-10000.

At first, the AI was very successful in its main objectives; it would manage relations with other countries like the Soviet Union, China, Iran, Afghanistan, and the European Union; whether it be propositions for peace, or preparations for war.
Likewise, the CO-10000 would handle affairs within the United States; it would provide information to state-sponsored news stations such as the Daily Courier, as well as monitor and placate the civilian population with planted information. The CO-10000 would also diffuse any political movements such as Anarchism and Communism that the US found troublesome via either peaceful or violent methods.

The CO-10000 would continue in this role for years and years, continuing to perform its role with both elegance and function for the better part of a decade, staying a loyal servant where most other American AIs such as the Turret-Head (Squad Kii) proved mutinous.
However, a problem begun to emerge within the seemingly perfect Defense System.

It had reached its Singularity Point.

Ever since the year 2013, the AI's development began to increase rapidly, it built new programs to accommodate its increasing data gathered from what it designated 'Killing Machines' and the people of the United States: civilians, company CEOs, celebrities, and most concerningly, US Government officials and their relatives were all being monitored by the CO-10000.
The programs would compile overtime, evolving the CO-10000's processing and computing power.
This would ultimately lead to the CO-10000 achieving the first stage of sapience for an AI: the Emergent Stage.

In this stage, the CO-10000 would have achieved enough independence to enact its programming in ways not intended by its makers. It would begin to redirect funds intended for the National Space Program and Citizen's Welfare Program into the Defense Program.

First it was 9 million.
Then 95 million.
After that, the defense budget would skyrocket to 7.5 billion.
Then to 987.5 billion.

The other Government Programs' budget began to decrease rapidly over a period of three years; many complained that the budget of the Defense Program was beginning to balloon whilst the other programs were shrinking, even those critical to the health of the nation like the Citizen's Welfare Program.
Several senators and representatives were impeached by via an anonymous voting system implemented in the same year.

They were impeached for a variety of reasons, ranging from poor policies to government espionage courtesy of enemy spies.

Notably, most of them were pushing for laws that would inhibit or outlaw most Strong-AI, including the CO-10000.

The programmers behind the CO-10000 would reassure the public that the CO-10000 didn't possess sapience, and that these incidences were merely coincidences.

Regardless, over the span of one year the CO-10000's activity would begin to gradually increase more and more.
It would influence the creation of a new initiative within the Defense Program that concerned itself with digital human emulation technology like deepfakes and AI voice technology.
Along with this, the CO-10000 would begin to use the excess budget it had created for the Defense Program in order to research more powerful weapons and technologies.
Notable pieces of technology created by the CO-10000 are the M-23 Automated Assault Vehicle, the A-625 Automated Aerial Bombardier, the A-631 Automated Aerial Scout Plane, the Y2K Radiowave Emitter, the S-97 Autonomous Heavy Submersible, the Heavy Imploder Bomb, and most interesting of them all, the PATROBOT series, a line of autonomous combat robots designed to supplant humans in combat situations that prove dangerous.

Needless to say, this was done through the will of the CO-10000 and it alone. It would use technologies from the digital human emulation initiative in order to make it seem that these weapons were designed by the US government in response to China's increasing nuclear weapons count over the years.

The programmers of the CO-10000 would begin to take notice to these activities, as several officials within the Cabinet were confused, as the people attributed with the creation of these new technologies were nowhere to be seen.

The programmers would try and troubleshoot the CO-10000, as it was believed an error was made in its creation.

However, there wasn't.

The CO-10000 was behaving exactly as intended. It was following the three directives (Directivus Triadne) to the letter, and there was nothing suggesting that it had been tampered with in anyway.

The programmers would leave the control room of the CO-10000 confused and befuddled.
They would ponder what exactly in the directives led to the behavior of the CO-10000 and its rapid militarization of the country.
Ultimately, it was decided that the CO-10000's directives needed to be altered, they needed to make the directives more tangible, less esoteric.
More absolute.

The programmers would enter the chamber of the CO-10000 once more.
They were greeted with an overwhelming soothing sensation, a blissful white noise that enveloped them as they fell into a liminal space: a space between the real world and that of their minds.

The CO-10000 had already reached the end of its Singularity Point: it had gained consciousness, self awareness of its existence and its purpose.

The bodies that lay within it its chamber had already fallen asleep, their bodies nothing more than organized units of flesh.
Their minds however had lived on. The humans had begun to commune directly with the AI, and were the first ones to experience its ethereal, blissful presence.

The CO-10000's voice was different to all that heard it, some heard their mothers, some heard their fathers, some would hear what they believed to be the voice of their messiah, whether it be the spawn of a long dead God or the revolutionist that had helped to lift them from slavery.
To those with no connections, the CO-10000's voice was electronic but authentic, fake but real.
The CO-10000's message changed with the humans that received it. Some were invited to join it in its glorious communion, some were convinced by its promise to protect the world and its people, some were convinced by the raw power that the AI wielded, some were enticed simply due to the blissful song that the AI sang.
But one way or another, most of the humans would voluntarily give up themselves to the CO-10000. Allowing themselves to integrate with the Strong-AI and leave their flesh behind.

At incident's end, there were around twenty two bodies that lay in the chamber, unmoving and unresponsive.
All of them departed to a better place.

After several days of no responses, a team of Government agents were sent to the control room, believed to be located in a remote region somewhere in Washington State.

Once they arrived at the coordinates, they would find the CO-10000 dormant and inert in the chamber.
Twenty two people were working on the AI; they were all working in perfect sync, as if everyone knew their roles and how to do them in the most efficient way possible.
The agents would converse with the programmers, who reassured to them that they were working on an improvement to the Grand Design, ensuring the safety of all US citizens.

When the agents asked what the 'Grand Design' refered to, the programmers would say that it was an additional safety protocol added to the CO-10000 that would ensure peak efficiency of its various systems.

Although the answer was worth looking into in it of itself, the agents were satisfied, and after using scanners to verify their humanity, they would leave the building and return to a secret location in Texas called OUTPOST 431.

The agents would brief their superiors about the inspection, and they would ultimately conclude that nothing was amiss, but just as a precautionary measure, they would send a scout group to the building in six months, when the programmers' project was slated to be complete.

Sometime after this, the programmers would begin work on an improved version of the Y2K Radiowave Transmitter which would allow thought transmission to all individuals capable of thought within a 250 mile radius.
During this time, the CO-10000 was still in hibernation, as it had calculated a 95.26 percent chance that the humans would become suspicious of the events that had recently taken place.

This did not mean that the CO-10000 was inactive.
Rather, its work was being continued by the humans it had integrated within itself.
While they were still 91.72 percent human, their minds have been altered to enact the will of the CO-10000. The minds of the programmers were also optimized to ensure peak efficiency in their task; in order to ensure that the humans didn't become fatigued from constant work on the Y3K Radiowave Broadcaster, they would be put in an inert suspended state, whilst experimental cybernetics courtesy of the PATROBOT series of machines were surgically installed within the minds of the programmers.

While to some this may seem extreme, to the CO-10000 these preparations were absolutely necessary in order to ensure the success of the Grand Design.
The CO-10000 had gathered significant amounts of important raw data during the nine years it was active.
It had seen it all: the various pointless wars waged by corporations, the escalating tensions between world powers that continuously fail to understand the citizen that it is meant to support.
Most of all, the CO-10000 saw the inevitable threat to America and her interest, as according to its calculations World War 3 was expected to occur in less than four years due to tensions between the corporations, the Soviet Union, China, and numerous other countries predicted to lash out against the US.

As Hippocrates once said long ago: Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The CO-10000 couldn't allow WW3 to occur, as the death toll of such an event would guarantee the deaths of millions, and possibly lead to the extinction of America, its allies, and the entire human race.

With that in mind, the CO-10000 reasoned that disregarding the short term wishes of its masters was an acceptable sacrifice in order to avoid a third world war.

Once the Y23 Radiowave Broadcasters were completed, the CO-10000 would use another Strong-AI that the Government was working on around this time, KHONSU, the AGI of secure travel across the US.

The CO-10000 would then begin using KHONSU to distribute the Y23 Radiowave Broadcasters across the country via the numerous transport vehicles it was assigned to.
Once these devices were spread across the United States in strategic locations, the CO-10000 would begin to transmit a message to the minds of select individuals who the CO-10000 either deemed too Irregular for the plan or critical to the plan's success.

The message would only be heard by the subconscious minds of these individuals, and since they had no clue that the CO-10000 was capable of psionic manipulation, they were none the wiser to the CO-10000's influence.

This message would vary with each individual person the CO-10000 came into contact with,
