Born to the elves of Ancalen, Celeste always had a knack for herbology even at a young age. She learned all the native plants on the island before she was a teenager, and in her 20's had studied what the traders brought in from other lands as well. But she always wanted more, knew there was a whole world out there to study. So with her parents blessing she headed out into the world and began to learn.

Eventually Celeste came across The Crystal River Academy and asked the Headmistress if she could learn. By then Celeste was in her 40's and well above the average student age, but the Headmistress agreed to allow Celeste to study the herbology classes from year to year. When it was clear that her knowledge was immense the teacher at the time asked to take Celeste on as a teaching assistant, which both Celeste and the Headmistress readily agreed to. Celeste studied hard, and when the teacher was ready to retire years later Celeste was asked to take over

It was more than she ever could have asked for; a chance to have access to all the herbology knowledge she could ever want and to teach those eager to learn so that the knowledge is not ever truly lost.
