Radish is what they call a Red-Hair, a Kuhndiza in the native language, which means she has a form of melanism that gives her hair a deep red color. Being that it’s associated with the Blood Moon and other related suspicions, Radish, like many others with her condition are typically seen as outcasts and are commonly discriminated against. Radish was abandoned at a young age like many others and had to rely on mostly herself for her entire life.
There was a small part of her life where she was taken in at the The Temple where she was taught how to read and write and was generally cared for, especially by Ahnahita who nurtured her in a grandmotherly way. Her life was simple until she had gotten older and began to get bullied by her ignorant peers and visitors of the temple who believed in the superstition about her fur color. Everything came to a head once she was held down and hazed by the other youths, leading to her immediately leaving the temple and its few protections behind.
It doesn’t help that she is quite small, which tempts others to take advantage of or underestimate her. She distrusts most people because of her poor treatment, which can often lead to trouble with getting framed for debts she didn’t make or crimes she didn’t commit.
