Lillian Bloodmare
72 Eons
Female
Leading Scientist of the Shadow Empire, Alusterian Historian, Engineer of the Shadow Empire, Potion Master, Lady of Bloodmare Manor
Neopire
The Blood Countess
7'1''
Hourglass
Red
Jet black
Either straight or wavy; she styles her hair differently from day to day.
Pale white
When she's not in her lab, she wears elegant dark dresses or armor with a gold or silver trim (normally gold). When working inside of the lab, Lillian always wears a white lab coat - sometimes with a dress underneath or just a simple shirt and pants along side her wrist braces.
Towering at 7'1'', the figure of Lillian Bloodmare is an intimidating one. Lillian carries herself with elegance, styling her long, silky black hair differently each day. As is typical for neopires and Knights alike, her skin is pale and inhumanly perfect, her full lips pelted black or red, and her crimson eyes rimmed in dark eyeliner. Normally, Lillian can be found wearing a old vampiric styled dress, usually one with a slit in one side for greater mobility. But no matter what she wears, the Flesh Messiah is almost always covered in head to toe with blood - usually as a product of her chosen craft.
Her signature weapon is Keres, a scythe forged by the Dark Messiah specifically for Lillian's use. Keres's blade absorbs enemy souls and converts them into strange, mindless demonic mutations that can be seen clawing at the surface from the inside of Keres' hilt. The Scythe itself can be broken into two parts for dual wielding - the primary piece being the blade and the end of it's long handle as a large gun that gets its energy either from the demons within the blade, or from Lillian herself - whichever is stronger at the time (it is almost always feeding from Lillian). The weapon can also morph into a sword, as desired. Keres is kept upon her person at all times, disguised as a piece of jewelry - typically her earrings.
Mistress Lillian Bloodmare is a well known name among the people of Alusterial. Every step she takes is filled with confidence, carrying the air of a natural queen. Wherever she goes, Lillian's presence seems to command immediate authority as well as fear. She doesn't take nonsense from anyone, and she's known for inflicting the most horrendous of punishments upon her unfortunate victims.
Even before becoming one of the Knights, Lillian was a historian who kept record of all notable individuals of Alusterial. She was the first individual in the world to keep detailed written records of other people. As such, she has several occupations within the Shadow Empire, including but not limited to: Crescent Knight, Leading Scientist of the Shadow Empire, Alusterian Historian, engineer of the Shadow Empire, and Potion Master rivaled only by Mistress Shadow and Mistress Black, respectively.
Impaling, blood, blood baths, BDSM, flesh, science, magitech, history, magic, mutations, stem-cells, chemicals, potions, monsters, creating fleshy monstrosities, mutating the hell out of living creatures, Lady Darkness, her daughter, her family, Luva, her fleshlings and other creations
Ignorance, Divinists, Ookami
Highly intelligent, thirsts for knowledge, powerful
Salura, time magic
Lillian is motivated by the constant thirst for knowledge and the need to challenge both herself and the limitations of science, magic and magitech.
She's somewhere on the asexual spectrum, as she doesn't experience attraction the way that most people do. Lillian is attracted to actions and intelligence, not necessarily to people (or even creatures).
Lillian was born into a prestigious noble family, to a father that was said to be descendant of Alucard Ariok, the first Neopire. The Bloodmare's were a family of class, who valued law and order in the land where Chaos ruled - a relatively large city somewhere within the Setrius Divide. They believed not in taking the souls of other sentient creatures, but of hunting non-sentient ones. A curious child was she, to go outside to witness their barbaric neighbors at work. She delighted in seeing gnolls, orcs, and dark elves go on about their business, especially when that business became a blood feud that ended only once one of the fighters' heads rolled from their shoulders. Her parents attempted to keep her from it but soon realized that their efforts were futile. By the time her sister Lydia was born, Lillian was obsessed by the violence and even more curious; she wondered just how much agony the physical body could endure, and what things it actually needed to carry on. The relationship between the sisters was strained as a result of the older's obsession, at least in Lydia's opinion.
Her experiments on animals she preyed upon got bigger and bloodier, and no blood feud was without her witness. One such blood feud included a young woman, whose life's blood fell upon Lillian's cheek in the shuffle. Later on, she noticed that the skin that the blood had touched had become whiter. Smoother. More beautiful. Curious, her experiments moved on from creatures to humanoids - particularly young women... To avoid her parents, she used a nearby temple of Sego to conduct her 'rituals', where she would murder those women and then bathe in their blood. And with the murder of the first, she watched that woman's soul rise to escape. Boldly, she grabbed it and fed herself. It was sweeter, more filling...! It provided a more potent astral. Pleased with the discovery, she preformed a few more experiments. Still, her morbid curiosity didn't stop there; she played with the corpses left behind, trying to create a living creature from the remains. One that looked more like a beast.
Eventually, she succeeded. Ecstatic, she decided to share her work with her sister. Lydia was horrified and rushed home to tell their parents, who were equally disturbed. They decided that their eldest daughter was too much of a danger and had to put her down, along with her beast. Unfortunately for them, that would be how they met their end. Although they succeeded in killing the flesh-beast, Lillian had grown stronger on the new souls and flesh that she devoured. Her knowledge of the physical body far surpassed their own; she knew of every weakness, and with her bare hands, separated her parents from their horns - and left them to starve or bleed out, whichever happened first. She killed Lydia last, making her parents watch. "And now... My greatest creation shall be born from all of you." She said, carving them up and separating body parts. The young neopire kept them alive through the process, combining their brains with that of a beast, with some modifications. From their bodies as well as several others, Lillian created her first real successful fleshling... A creature that she affectionately named Luva.
Originally, everything afterward was done for Luva's benefit. Eventually, she felt as though she had perfected the creature and moved onto bigger and better things, taking note of the people around them. She used scrolls of papyrus to record her findings, and also to keep documentation of important individuals, cities, plants, and animals in the world. Lillian became the first scientist and also the first historian in Alusterian history. But as she aged, so too did her sadism and lust for knowledge. She grew fascinated with impaling people, eventually mastering the artform that she could impale a humanoid in such a way that they would still be alive when they shouldn't be. Single handedly, she and Luva conquered the city. Lillian made it into a playground for her experiments, and a garden of impaled, bleeding bodies - each with a bucket or two under them to catch the falling fluid. Luva and later fleshlings were trained to collect the buckets and bring them to her, providing their master with blood to bathe in and blood to drink. They were starting to expand their lands...
Her macabre behavior was earning attention from both sides of the spectrum. Before Leviathia's young queen could intervene, a Dark force met with Lillian, offering her not only everything she ever wanted, but a lab and all of the supplies and tools she would ever need... If she would kneel and work for Darkness. Lillian, being a logical creature, took a day to respond. In the end, she decided to take Shago's offer and begun training as a Knight - an alliance and profession she has maintained since.
Even before becoming a Crescent Knight, Lillian was always the top of her class in every category. She was the first individual within the Shadow Empire to skip both Dark and Shadow ranks and go straight to Crescent, and to this day is the primary advisor to the Empress along with Mistress Black. Lillian was an instant favorite of the generals and other Knights, who wanted nothing more than to learn from her.
As a Crescent Knight, Lillian's cruelty was allowed to flourish and evolve. While it's said that she may rival, or even surpass, the abilities of Lady Thora Phrostfur, Lillian has always preferred to work in the shadows and pull the strings as she sees fit. Her prowess as a Knight along with her extremely high success rate with missions earned her swift fame within the Empire. She was the first to be awarded with her own piece of land, upon which she built Bloodmare Manor, which had a large basement complex in which she experiments with cadavers and created golems, among several other things.
The basement complex of Bloodmare manor is the largest laboratory in Alusterial, and possibly the universe. Lillian worked with few other individuals to create it, and has gathered a number of people to assist in maintaining the lab. These people are lesser beings, often slaves that are prohibited from entering the upper levels of the Manor, allowing her to create an array of fleshlings similar to Luva.
Her thirst for knowledge is second only to Shago herself; the two have gone on many journeys together to obtain new knowledge and to master any craft they could get their hands on. As such, Lillian is a master with medicine, chemistry, various fields of of sciences, and much more. It was Lillian and Shago training Knights originally, which ceased when the Generals too mastered those things and could successfully teach them to new Knights.
But all of her knowledge being passed to other people wasn't enough for Lillian. She wanted to create something that she could raise and teach, that may eventually surpass her. However, she was against the traditional methods of having children, and refused selective breeding - mostly because she wanted the perfect offspring that she knew could not be produced by those methods. Thus, Lillian conducted her ultimate experiment - on herself - and succeeded. Months later, Luvia Bloodmare was born. Luvia was raised to be the spitting image of her mother, to share her knowledge and experience.
However, Luvia grew to love her mother a little too much after she witnessed her mother and Lady Darkness together. For the first time, Lillian became disturbed.
After that discovery, Lillian threw herself into her work and happily took a mission into the World of Lore. During her research on the local flora and fauna, she discovered and rescued a human named Karayan in the Kingdom of Mrak. Karayan was amusing, so she decided to keep the woman for the duration of her stay. Over time, their interest became love. Knowing that she could not take Kayaran with her and didn't want the passage of time to claim the human, Lillian turned her into a vampire. Shortly afterwards, Lillian gathered her things and left - leaving a note upon Karayan's coffin that she would come back for her.
In the time away from Karayan, Lillian butchered the Ookami of Time that was bonded to Ashuga Menro, and took the pantheons of other worlds for her own. Afterwards, she took the time to perfect experiments that she'd put on hold, and prepared a space for Karayan complete with a closet.
Hundreds of years later, she did just that. But Karayan, who hadn't mastered how to read DMD, did not understand her lover's message, and was both furious and crushed. When Lillian explained the misunderstanding, Karayan forgave her. They married shortly after.
The Universal War came, and Lillian knew that Ashuga would be gunning for her out of revenge. Not knowing what would become of her, she said farewell to her wife and daughter, along with other loved ones like Lady Darkness (a Knight that she'd trained and raised up along with Luvia), leaving Karayan with child. Upon the battlefield, her fears came true; the Mother of Time screamed her name and took her, crushing her body but not letting her die. Ashuga Menro exacted her revenge upon the Flesh Messiah by rewiring her memory - making her believe to be a Paladin rather than a Knight. Lillian's alliance in the battle shifted afterwards, leading to the freezing and death of fellow Knights - including Lady Darkness, whose body she took with her back to the Tower of Light.
LD's body was reclaimed by her lover, H'tes. However, Lillian and the other Paladins held the tower for as long as they could until they were overpowered. Separated from her comrades, Lillian was captured by Shago and returned to the palace of darkness, where the new 'Mother of All' attempted to undo the damage done by Ashuga - but to no avail.
Presently, Lillian still believes herself to be a Paladin, and waits for her opportunity to escape and free her "companions".
