Equivalent to 9th Grade
They was born to Leon Darwin and Xandra Darwin. They became an older sibling to Robin Darwin about 2 years later. They had a wonderful family life, even though they were on the poorer side. They looked up to their father, a man most people around them liked. But little did they know, he would change everything.
One day when they were 13, their mother, brother and themself came home and Dakota found their dad hanging from a noose. The family was in shock, he never acted like he was suicidal before. Dakota went into a deep depression, hardly speaking to anyone and when people did speak to them, they mostly spoke through their body language.
At 14, Dakota decided to leave home, knowing they couldn't stand to live there anymore, blaming themselves for the death of their father, and knowing they were not helping the family and becoming more and more of a burden. They told their mom and brother goodbye and left, wandering around the world.
At 15 years old, they found Hunter's barn and decided to nap in it. Cole, going around doing his chores, saw them and yelled at them to leave. They argued for a bit before Hunter came out to see what his son was doing. Dakota explained that they were cold and looking for a place to stay, never mentioning their past. Feeling sympathy for the young teen, he allowed them to stay with the family.
After a month and a half, they were ready to leave, feeling they were becoming a burden. While Cole was ready for them to leave, Hunter and his wife, Jasmine, insisted they stay. They agreed but only if they could live outside of the house, suggesting the barn. Hunter denied and said that he would help build a house for them that was close by. The entire family and Dakota started building the house and they continued to live in their home.
During that time, they tried to get Cole to open up to them. After many attempts, Cole finally started to open up, bit by bit. As the house was completed, Cole asked if he could stay with them that night. They and his parents agreed and they spent the night together. Dakota opened up about their past and Cole opened up about why he thinks he acts the way he does. They grew to be very close friends. As Cole was heading back to his home, Dakota gave him a heart shaped rock they had found on their travels, as a sign of their friendship. Their heart fluttered the next morning when he had left. They met Ayana, Lily, Karla and Tristan later that year. They enjoyed the family's company, especially Ayana and Lily. Everything was wonderful until 2 years later...
