This is all a base for Rose's personality at the beginning of the story and is subject to change as her character develops.
She was taught how to read, write, and do basic arithmetic by the keepers of the orphanage she was raised in. She took time on her own to teach herself history and folklore.
Rose was left in an orphanage in the Autumn Domain at a very young age, and she has no memory of her family. As a child, she was very inquisitive and impulsive. As a result, she tended to get herself into trouble more often than not. She hated the confines of the orphanage and the town that surrounded it, so she ran away at the age of 15. She taught herself to survive from there, learning to steal and pickpocket to survive. Eventually, she realized her gift for story telling and started entertaining at inns and taverns for cash. During a performance one night at a festival in the Summer Domain, she met Nicoli, a kind-hearted boy who had just struck it out on his own. The two became fast friends and began hopping from town to town together.
